  • A Holiday Gift for My Students

    Funded Dec 4, 2024

As a teacher, there is not much better than seeing a child's face light up with excitement! Our students love DonorsChoose delivery day and always want to be a part of opening the boxes.

When we pulled out the items our students were going to make and give to their parents they were really excited and some even started to cry, stating they did not think that they would be able to give their parents anything. We are excited to wrap up the book and give them paper and pencils to have a small gift from us, while being able to make cookies with their families over the long break.

Thank you for helping put a smile on our kids (and parents) faces! We put a handprint on an oven mitt, put the cookie mix inside and attached the cookie cutters so they can create their own cookie shapes!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Tuesley

  • Teachers Pay Teachers Resources!

    Funded Nov 21, 2024

Thank you for helping fund our Teachers Pay Teachers gift card. Having a website such as teachers pay teachers helps save teachers time and money but being able to search for pre-made activities, worksheets, bulletin board ideas, even newsletter layouts and more. With the gift card we are able to purchase items that reflect the units we are studying, by both updating areas in the classroom, such as blocks, dramatic play or even the writing center with new ideas to keep the students engaged and excited! Thank you for helping keep our classroom up to date with the latest units!”

  • Social Emotional Learning Through Stories

    Funded May 8, 2024

Thank you for helping fund our social-emotional project. Students learn more by visuals and these books are perfect for showing expression and being able to identify feelings by looking at the pictures. The students enjoy having these stories in our calm down area and in on the bookshelves where they are easily accessible to view when they are having large feelings, or even just for fun to pretend to play. The books are fun to look at and have lots of different cultures and ethnicities making the books more enjoyable to students of all color and race. Thank you again!”

  • Exciting Small Group Play!

    Funded May 7, 2024

Thank you so much for helping fund our small group play project. We have been using our portable easels almost every day for numerous projects. We did a sink or float experiment and were able to show the items that sank or float on there appropriate easel, making it easier to show kids the pictures and be able to count the objects. By having others items be so small, they are able to fold up and store easily, and we are able to get them in and out, and set up for everyday use. The kids are able to help with putting items on them as they are perfect height to help and be able to see what we are working on!”

  • Little People Toys!

    Funded May 7, 2024

Yay! We are blown away by your generosity! We have discovered that our students are really into the Little People toys this year, and since we had such a small number of them to offer, there was quite a bit of disappointment among the students that had to wait to play. Thanks to your support, that will not be an issue anymore!

I know the students will love the new additions to the classroom. The Barbie dream house, Batman cave, and train will be huge hits among all the students. Having characters that go with them will allow more students to play cooperatively together, a skill that we are working hard on this year.

Thank you again! We look forward to sharing pictures with you very soon."”

  • Where is The Storage

    Funded Dec 21, 2023

Thank you for helping fund our storage project. Space is limited in our classroom, and we have a lot of materials. By having the 8-cube organizer, we were able to color coordinate bins with curriculum items and other teacher items that we can find in a short amount of time. The students are even able to help bring over certain bins if they know we are doing certain small group games or math items. We are excited to have the mini baskets above their hooks to keep all of their personal items in. Thank you for helping keep our room organized!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Tuesley

  • Teachers Pay Teachers Resources

    Funded Jan 25, 2024

Thank you so much for helping fund our teachers pay teachers gift card! There are so many resources available from studies, to labels, to social emotional stories. In our room, we are focusing on coloring mixing and the clothes unit! By having these ready made resources, it helps us have the room more inviting, and easy to change materials over for new units to keep the kids engaged and excited for what is to come next! We are excited to see what other resources we can purchase next lesson! Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

  • Gifts for the Holidays

    Funded Dec 5, 2023

Thank you for helping fund our holiday gift project. Many of our students are low-income and do not receive a lot of gifts for the Holidays. While a book and hot chocolate are not a PlayStation, they are still very meaningful to the students who do not get much. They were very excited and happy to receive something from their teachers and excited to bring it home and show their parents the gifts they received and the gifts that they made! Thank you for helping put a smile on their faces, and ours!”

  • Warm Hands, Warm Clothes!

    Funded Nov 30, 2023

Thank you for funding our warm clothes project. The hats and waterproof gloves have already came in handy with our snowy Michigan weather. The children have been able to play in the snow, build snowmen, snowballs, and make snow angels without the worry of cold hands and heads. Unfortunately, not all snowpants are completely waterproof so having extra pants and socks to change into when pants get soaked help ensure that students are dry and warm and able to continue with learning for the rest of the day!”

  • Scrub a Dub Dub!

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

Thank you for helping fund our scrub a dub dub project. The families were excited to receive cleaning products and laundry soap as that is not something covered by food stamps. Laundry soap and other products and very expensive these days and with it being so close to Christmas, the families were able to use some of those funds for other items instead of worrying about affording both. Thank you again for helping keep their homes clean and germ free, to in return keep the students healthy to keep everyone in school longer!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Tuesley

This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose Community and 27 other donors.
My student's families will really benefit if they are able to receive these cleaning supplies. The laundry soap will enable them to have clean clothes to wear, the dish soap will provide them the means to have clean dishes to eat on, and the household cleaning supplies will aid them in cleaning their homes and help keep them healthy! There are many benefits of having clean clothes, clean dishes and a clean home; less stress, more active, more productive, sleeping better, and sick less frequently! This past year has been challenging and my student's families could really use the items in this project to keep them safe and healthy!
