  • Books On The Shelves!

    Funded May 18, 2022

Many of us love to read books as adults. If we only knew where books Al could take us we would have wanted to read more books as children.

The books provided from this project allowed students to read and listen to new ideas and stories. They were able to learn from the past experiences and learn about new subjects and topics.

Having a variety of books for our learners to see in a classroom opens their minds for new opportunities.

Thank you for supporting us and our desire to share our love of readiNg with the youth”

  • Stunning Window Art

    Funded May 3, 2022

Thanks for all your support for my students who have learned to love new and fun art. They were able to create mosaics that they brought home. They had fun planning, working, and creating. If more students has the chance to create and have fun while at school for longer periods of time there would be happier children. They loved using their imaginations. We have to bring back creative ideas into our classrooms. Some students did get frustrated with the whole process but at these they were able to try a new artistic medium.”

  • A "Good Heart"

    Funded Oct 23, 2020

I am so humbled by your donation to fund our project. We were able to send home extra games and practice fun for the students while we were in remote learning with the laminating sheets and the TpT gift card.

We just finished up reading about the American Revolution and the books that were bought fit right in for some of our projects. The students I work with vary in reading skills so they were able to read leveled readers based on their skills to learn about some people in the British and Colonist Armies.

Although this year has been a bit out of the ordinary for us all, the kids have been so resilient to it and have learned to use what they have at home to participate with. It was great to have such fun and interactive activities that were bought on TpT for our remote learning time.”

  • Reading, Writing, and Learning, Oh My!

    Funded Jan 4, 2020

In a world going through many unknown, it is wonderful that others are still concerned with our youth and their ability to find books they like to read and get interested in. I teach fourth grade in a school full of second language learners and students who required extra practice to comprehend their math and reading skills. The graphic novels provide books to read for all levels to students.

Reading time in our classroom is for student to practice sustained reading of independently chose books. We read a variety of genres in our Language Arts Class period, but the students do not always get to chose the books they are interested in. By using graphic novels and short stories with questions about various topics; students will be able to find books they enjoy and learn to love books.

The journals are used for individuals to help with their reading comprehension skills. The editing journal is helpful to improve the students' abilities to find mistakes and correct them. The color overlays will be used to try with different students to see if they help with fluency.”

  • Hands-on Literacy

    Funded Dec 11, 2019

In a world going through many unknowns, it is wonderful that others are still concerned with our youth and their ability to learn. Kids learn best hands on and will remember it years to come when they make meaningful connections. The Versa-Tiles help my students practice their reading skills in a way they find fun. They think it is a game trying to have the tiles match the picture once they competed all questions.

I teach fourth grade in a school full of second language learners and students who required extra practice to comprehend their comprehension skills, grammar skills, and editing skills. The Versa-Tiles allow the student to be practicing different skills but all doing similar activities.

The students who are in my classroom enjoy using tiles to help them learn. They are able to work on 5 of the 12 questions and then finish it up the next day and then check their work. The books include small stories, sentences, and, poems for the students to learn through.

Thank you for helping me to enrich the lives of my fourth grade students.”

  • Teaching and Reaching Everyone with an iPad

    Funded Dec 18, 2015

By donating to this project you have allowed an additional student in the classes I go into to work on Reflex math and Raz-Kids. They used the iPad as a station during Daily Five and Daily Three. The students have become fluent in many addition and subtraction facts through the app as well as hearing and reading many stories that they would have struggled with trying to read.

The students were so very excited when I announced that there was another iPad that was going to be joining the rotation because this meant that more students were able to use the apps to help their academic skills improve. Some of the students don't have a computer or a tablet at home so using the technology here at school is the only time they can use these apps. It is much appreciated by many of the students and myself.

Through donating you have spread your love of learning to all those affected.”

    Mrs. Parker

  • It All Adds Up...Money Matters!

    Funded Oct 9, 2015

This project being funded has helped me as a first grade teacher to help my students understand the value of money. They don't see many people using coins and dollar bills to pay for items in the store. We often use plastic. The students need to know that even though you use a debit card or a credit card; it is still like using money and having to pay back or borrow from the bank is still like using cash.

The students have loved playing the matching money puzzles to further their understand their value of coins and how to count back change. The stories that were bought help the children relate to the real world. They were most excited about the stickers. They like using the coins and dollar bills to make up a game where they have their friends purchase items and then they have to count back the change that they need to receive.

I hope that more children will understand the importance of working for money, using it to buy what is needed, and saving money for the future.”

  • Brain Work to Increase ELA

    Funded Mar 4, 2015

These books were for me to increase my awareness of new and innovative ideas I can use with my students to help them to become better readers and better learners. I have used a few books so far to share with coworkers to create a ELA benchmark test to give to all kindergarten and first grade students in the fall. This will help us to create groups to target certain skills that these students need to have a basic foundation to learn to read. I have 4-6 books I plan to read this summer that will help me to learn new ways to help the students get moving in class. By allowing for "brain breaks" during the school day the students will have more concentration on the material that is presented to them. This was an amazing project to have funded because it allows for me to share all the teacher resources with my coworkers. It will continue to help the students' learning because it will be for many years to come not for just one year. I am grateful that this project was funded by incredible people who appreciate the love of learning and the love of teaching.”

  • Spectacular Science

    Funded May 5, 2015

We just wanted to send you a thank you for all the supplies you send to us so we can experiment with light and sound. We have been able to use the flash lights and then prisms to see how light switches and changes when shown in different ways. We also used the color paddles to see how different colors together can form new colors.

We were so excited to get the boxes when they were delivered to our classroom. We will be using the supplies to lean about sound too. We have the jump ropes to see how the sound waves move and the tuning forks to hear different tones. The best part was the big boomaphone. All the kids love this because it is super big and makes lots of noise.

We as teachers are able to show the first graders how learning can be fun and exciting with experiments but also with reading about science. We will be able to use these materials for years to come.

    Thanks for your contribution.”

    Mrs. Parker

  • Wikki Words

    Funded Jan 26, 2015

The students were so very excited to see our package arrive with our Wikki Stix. They have used them to make sight words on their desks, number sentences, as well as just mold them into shapes and creatures.

We use the Wikki Stix to practice our weekly sight words. The students will mold the stix to form the letters and then they are able to read the word. This helps to use a different modality of learning for some students. The students have learned many new words since we have introduced then Wikki Stix.

We are very thankful for your donations to this project.”

I teach first grade special education students in Massachusetts. Many students are from low income households and have little or no access to technology. Some students are also bilingual and trying to learn how to read in English while speaking Portuguese or Spanish at home. My students are an amazing bunch of kids. They enjoy learning new things and are so happy when they learn new things.
