  • Learning to Read Like Rockstars

    Funded Mar 14, 2021

Many thanks for your generous donation to me and my students. Your gift will not only help the students in my class this year, but will be used for years to come and will impact many young minds. In addition, this gift will live in each of those children throughout their lives.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Johnson

  • Close Up and Organized

    Funded Dec 17, 2019

Thank you so much! My class and I have been together for the last two years. We work very well together but we have been crowded around an awkward, small round table for small group work. The u-shaped table that your generous donation provided has been a true blessing for us. It is more comfortable and much easier to work with students. When the table arrived, my students were very excited and said "you have the BEST friends!". Indeed I do!

The bin storage has also been a tremendous help in our classroom. It makes our classroom supplies much more accessable throughout the day. No more digging through the closet for much needed supplies!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Johnson

  • Gaming For Great Learning

    Funded Aug 23, 2014

Thank you for your generous donations. My students all of the provided resources on a daily basis. They are actively engaged in learning and in academic talk while working with the math and language arts skill games. The students beg to move into centers so that they can choose their favorite games to play.

Our classroom has blossomed with creativity, academic vocabulary, and cooperation while using the materials provided from your donations. The students are continuously growing in their ability to work cooperatively with each other and in assisting each other during learning.

The Scholastic News magazines are used daily to enrich current curriculum and to reinforce prior knowledge. The students are always excited to receive the newest edition and actually cheer when I show them the new articles. We are having so much fun learning!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Johnson

Our school is a Title 1, high poverty area. The students come to school with a myriad of backgrounds. Anything that encourages movement or interaction makes the students come alive. They have an unending thirst for knowledge, as long as its not "boring". They bring new ideas and love to research questions that have their teacher "stumped" throughout the day. Some have access to a stable living situation and some struggle to create their own stability. We work as a whole to create an environment of open dialogue and learning for each other.
