In Need of Everyday Supplies
Funded Mar 6, 2014We, The scholars of room 17 are so very thankful for your generosity. The supplies we requested were simple, but are already impacting the way we are learning. The first day we used our white boards, we had a math competition and were able to write the answers on our own white boards instead of borrowing them from another room. We finished the novel, Because of Mr. Terupt in January and will be starting Mr. Terupt falls again next week. Thanks to your donations, we received our first issues of Scholastic magazine for kids. We eagerly read an article about music programs in public schools and enjoyed being able to read something that wasn't copied or printed from the internet. The bins are keeping our other supplies you helped to fund in order. We are all grateful for your generosity. It is an amazing feeling to know that people care and are willing to support us and our teacher. We will do our best to pay it forward.”

Even More Excited About Reading!!
Funded Oct 28, 2012lt is with heartfelt gratitude that my scholars thank you . Your most generous donation assisted us in acquiring a full class set of the chapter book, Because of Mr. Tarupt. As you are aware, our district is suffering from financial hardships. Much of what my class needs I pay for out of my own pocket. I don't mind ensuring my students have everything they need to succeed, but your help was needed to assist my students in their learning.
When our first project was funded, my students wondered why strangers would want to help them. It is a sad testament to the apathy of many. You have once again shown my scholars that there are people who care about them, even if they do not know them. Your sensitivity will teach a valuable lesson to my scholars who I hope will pay it forward. Thank you again for your generosity. It is my hope that you can appreciate the enormity of your donation.”
With gratitude,

Excited about Reading!
Funded Oct 24, 2012Since the project only posted on Donors Choose yesterday, I was planning on telling them about the project today. Little did I know I would be spending the first few minutes of class telling them the good news. However, I have to admit, I teased them first. I told them of the project and then asked what they thought. Common responses were "Why would stingers help us?" "It will take FOREVER to get that much money." "Why didn't you ask for i pads?" I had to chuckle at that one. Once I filled them in and told them WE were fully funded, they were THRILLED.
It is with great appreciation and true humbleness, that I and my scholars thank you for your most generous donation to our cause. My students love to read but as stated on my page have a limited library. Through your charitable generosity, my "scholars" are one step closer to having a class library they can be proud of. Please know that there are NO WORDS that can adequately express my gratitude for making my students a priority. In these troubled financial times, it fills my heart to know that there are friends out there who would consider my STUDENTS to be important. You not only gave so my students can learn valuable reading skills, you have also taught them that there are people out there who care about their future. RAMDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS go a long a way. Your generosity will IMPACT my scholars in more ways than you can ever possibly imagine.
May your generosity of spirit be a blessing to many others you may choose to serve.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Buonocore
