I have a large cart of LEGO programmable robot parts sitting idle. Your donation will help me replace what is outdated, missing, and broken to create 4 complete LEGO programmable robot kits. Your donation will put LEGO programmable robot technology (a great STEM resource) in the hands of more students! At the same time, your donation will make our FIRST LEGO League teams more competitive. Complete robot kits would allow me to teach 4th graders how to build and program robots a year before they become part of the 5th grade competition teams. My 5th grade class has 2 complete LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 programmable robot kits, and these are reserved for competition. Your donation will give my 4th grade class 4 complete robot kits, which will allow them to experiment with building and learn programming. First LEGO League (FLL) competition is a 3 part competition. It teaches and evaluates Core Values (cooperation, team building), robot building and programming, and incorporates a worldly problem that must be researched, solved in an innovative way, and creatively presented to judges. The "real world" skills learned through LEGO competition are phenomenal. My 4th graders are begging to "do LEGO"! Your donation can make that happen.
