  • Classroom Basics and TPT

    Funded May 6, 2024

Thank you so much for helping my students receive what they needed to have the materials that they needed to have a successful year. They use the folders daily to keep their homework practice and bring it to school. They were so excited when they got their individual pouches with their supplies! The pouches helped them keep all their class utensils neatly in their desks and prevented them from losing them. The TpT card will be used to buy hands-on Math and Spanish games that they will love to play. I cannot thank you enough for your generosity.”

  • Back to Learning in First Grade

    Funded Aug 9, 2023

Thank you for providing my class with supplies that support daily routines and organization. My students love representing their collections when they count because they get to do so with the multicolor clickable pens. They also love using them with their composition notebooks when they do dictation in both languages. When they use the pens they do not feel as self conscious about making mistakes and just circle them instead of trying to erase them. This helps them learn from their mistakes.

They use the pencil pouches constantly and it helps store their materials without losing them. The number stickers assist in preventing them from confusing their pouches, pencils, and iPads. When they check out books from the class library they can distinguish the English, Spanish, and bilingual books independently because they recognize the stickers. I am so thankful for your help in making our class procedures flow naturally.”

  • Rolling and Subitizing

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Thank you so much for making math fun for my class! My students have a great time when they use the dice to work and play with numbers up to twenty with their partners. They are developing greater automaticity with their math facts while having fun. As soon as the dice come out they get excited because math becomes a game for them.

During after school tutoring, the kids will ask to use the sets with ten-frames, tally marks, base ten, and numbers to play with each other and compare number values. I see how they are becoming more flexible when adding, subtracting, and recognizing the numbers.

Thanks again for your generosity and for providing me with ways to bring joy to the math learning.”

  • STEMtastic Tools

    Funded Aug 29, 2022

Thank you for giving my students the opportunity to learn in class through play with materials they do not usually have at home. They have had the opportunity to collaborate and create structures and shapes as a team with the K'Nex and wooden building blocks. They used the playdough with toothpicks to build 3D shapes and loved it. It also really helped them understand and remember concepts like vertices and faces.

We were all very excited when the materials arrived because they were new to them! I was thrilled to receive the voice amplifier because they can hear my instructions clearly and by the end of the day my voice is still intact! Thank you so much for your generosity!”

My students are low income children in a Title 1 school that qualifies for free lunches. They are acquiring linguistic and reading skills simultaneously and don't have much exposure to technology neither at school nor at home. They are beginning to develop reading fluency with decodeable books and love listening to high interest stories. They are beginning to realize that there is more to reading than decoding. We are working on reading with expression and developing reading comprehension skills. They get a kick out of hearing themselves improving and reading with intonation because they are motivated learners. They are a class that appreciates humor and adventure, things that they will be able to find in books.
