As educators, we have a responsibility to use flexibility, creativity, and innovation to find ways to meet our students' needs. Over the course of the past two school years, we have been challenged more than ever before and have risen to the occasion. As we return to classrooms, it is time to look forward by combining what worked before with new strategies we utilized when we found ourselves rising to meet the challenges we faced. I was able to connect with my students and assist them with making progress toward their social/emotional goals by using virtual social/emotional platforms, including Everyday Speech and Emotional ABCs, resources found on TherapistAid, and through collaborating with other social/emotional educators through the internet.
Through the use of high-quality, cutting-edge technology, my students will continue to benefit from accessing digital therapeutic tools as they return to in-person learning. In addition, the use of an iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil will allow me greater flexibility in completing all parts of my job efficiently. I will be able to use one device to attend virtual professional developments and meetings, meet with parents and families, access resources, download therapeutic apps, such as calming, white noise, art, movement, yoga, and meditation apps, take notes on student observations and collaborative meetings, complete paperwork, and do research to continue my professional growth. This device would allow my students to build their skills and grow in character as I continue to grow to be the best I can be for them.
