  • Flexible Seating Options

    Funded Sep 20, 2023

Thank you so much for the donations. I have 28 students that need different seating options. Students need stools for the guided reading table due to the large classroom size.

Students utilized the seating options while independently working. The gray saucer chairs are frequently used for students to work in pairs. Students read in pairs and were able to complete reading work using these flexible seating options. We also use the blue chair for independent reading. Students are able to locate these options around the classroom.”

    Ms. Duarte

  • Listening in Two Languages With New Headphones!

    Funded Mar 19, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation. We now have headphones for every student in the classroom. We have headphones for students that are also arriving from Venezuela. This donation has helped newcomers from different countries gain access to literacy through online books. These headphones are also used daily for Lexia. Lexia is a program that helps students with phonics and the study of root words. This tool has also helped everyone in the classroom gain access to audio books and access to math word problems. Thank you so much for this great donation!”

  • Bounce! Flexible Seating Options for all Learners!

    Funded May 17, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donations. Every day we switch yoga balls and the wobbly stools to help students have different seating options. They enjoy sitting by their desk and working with a wobbly chair. It is important that students are able to move around using options that are available to them.

My students have enjoyed working with yoga balls. During small group instruction Thank you for taking the time to donate to our classroom needs. This donation reaches not only our current students, but also future students.”

  • New Classroom Meeting Spot!

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

We love our new classroom rug. We were in need of a replacement and with your donation we made this happen. When we first rolled out the carpet, my students' eyes lit up and smiles were present all over. They were in such a great mood and couldn't wait to try out the new rug.

We use the rug for all subjects in the classroom. For language arts, we meet together whole group for a read- aloud story. Students also use it for independent reading and partner reading. For math, students take their math text books and dry erase boards to the rug to work on math. For science, students gather their STEM materials and work on the rug with their teammates. We use our rug daily!

My students also take care of the rug and make sure that they do not bring food to the meeting space.

My class is so grateful for this donation! Gracias!”

  • Diverse Books and Interactive Student Lessons for Remote Learning

    Funded Sep 8, 2020

Thank you very much for all your generous donations. We have used Nearpod, our online engagement platform, for all learners to access. Students love to interact with Nearpod. This digital platform helps students showcase their understanding in many different ways. Students from all learning modalities can be engaged in this program. This has enabled me as the facilitator to track their learning in different subject areas. Remote learning has been a challenge, however with books that have been donated and online programs available, students have a better experience while learning virtually.”

  • Spanish Books for Bilingual Brains

    Funded Jun 9, 2019

My students were ecstatic when the book order arrived. They were excited to process the books and be part of making the library.

We have started the first 20 days of reading and we have been using the books to strengthen a reading stamina of 20 minutes. Students are highly engaged in the book selection provided by our donors and make stamina time their favorite time of the day. Students often say, "is it stamina time yet? I can't wait to read my book". I'm so grateful to have students fully engaged in reading. Thank you !”

These 4th grade bilingual students are electric and charming. We attend a "bucket filling" school where students pursue acts of kindness to fill the hearts of others thus, they are bucket fillers! This concept is taken from the book "Have you Filled a Bucket Today: A Guide to Daily Happiness for Kids".We have classroom buckets all around the school to remind students that bucket filling is essential to our school community in embracing friendship, trust and love.
