  • Rev Up With the American Revolution

    Funded Mar 4, 2014

I want to thank you all again for your generosity.

My students were so excited when I told them about the books we were going to get, and were elated when the books arrived! They all crowded around me as I opened the box, eager to see the new books they were going to be able to finally get their hands on!

My students immediately started to read the American Revolution books, even though we are no longer studying the event. They are so interested and engaged that their curiosity has continued on past the American Revolution unit.

Now that we have more books on the topic, my students will be able to get a better understand of all of the aspects of the American Revolution-- which events led up to the War, how all different types of people added to the cause, and how our country was shaped by all of these events.

Once again, thank you so much for helping us out and expanding our knowledge about the American Revolution!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lafaman

I cannot thank you enough for your generous donations that have brought all of these wonderful, engaging, and exciting books into my Fourth Grade classroom. My students, as well as myself, have been using these books on a daily basis. They have been an extremely helpful resource, particularly in the non-fiction reading and research units of study we have been taking part in.

As a lover of history, it has been wonderful seeing my students so engaged in the books about New York history that you helped bring into our classroom. Whether they are reading about the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge or the history of Ellis Island, the students have been devouring the books! We are all tremendously grateful for your kindness and generosity. ”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lafaman

My children are fourth grade students, many of whom have immigrated to America with their families. Our school, which is located in New York City, has a large population of immigrant children, mainly of Asian decent. Our school's motto is "Believe it, Achieve it!", and that is what we try to teach our students- that if they believe in themselves and try hard, they can achieve what their heart desires.
