Wiggle, Wobble, and Work 2
Funded Aug 16, 2017Thank you for donating to my project and allowing more flexible seating options in our classroom. We are able to use wobble cushions in our room, clip boards, and individual white boards. We often use these options throughout our day to help us learn. Without your donation I would not be able to provide these options for my students. Thank you for allowing learning to happen in all spots of my room. We are also able to use our whiteboards as a magnetic board. We use letters to create words and practice. We have already enjoyed these materials so much and I know they will continue to be enjoyed for years and years to come.”

Funded Jul 10, 2017Thank you all so much for your donations once again! We had very happy Kindergarten students when they realized we were able to provide healthy snacks daily if their parents forgot to pack one. Some of our students rely on this snack everyday. It is so hard to focus on completing work when you are hungry. They snack trays have been such a huge help. They are able to eat on a clean surface without having to worry about germs or getting sick. Overall, these items have made my classroom a happier and healthier place to be. I could not have provided these items without your kind donations.”

Funded Jun 30, 2017Your generous donations have made a huge impact in our Kindergarten classrooms. These 5 and 6 year old children have found a new way to focus on completing their assignments and that is through movement. Flexible seating has made our classrooms more enjoyable and allowed our students the movement opportunities that they need. With our new ball seats they are able to move while they are working. We have noticed having less behavior problems and a higher percentage of students finishing their work. When we received the materials our students were so excited and asked multiple times to get them out of the box. The ball seats are a favorite and are constantly being chosen to sit in during the day. I am so thankful I was able to introduce these types of seats to my students and they have had such a strong impact already. It would not have been possible without your help. Thank you again!”

Funded Dec 3, 2014I can not thank all of you enough. As a second year teacher in Kindergarten this project has helped me manage my classroom during whole group time. This large beautiful rug has allowed me to give each student a space of their own. This rug has allowed me to keep students spread out and able to focus on the lesson. I am able to assign students specific squares to help manage the room. This colorful rug also adds a fun feel to my room and promotes learning making my room feel cozy. My students and myself love the new addition to our room! Thank you all again. The support is amazing!”

Raz-Kids Helping K-Kids
Funded Oct 6, 2014I have been using Raz-Kids for a couple of months now and I have noticed a HUGE difference in my students reading levels. They are able to read more books through this program as well as books in many different genres. Raz-Kids allows them to read books and their own individual level and answer comprehension questions. It is difficult for students in Kindergarten to answer comprehension questions independently based on the problem that they are just beginning to read and may not understand the question. This program read the question and answers to my students so they are able to answer questions about the book that they read.
From my computer I am able to see what types of questions my students are having trouble with individually or as a whole class. This allows me to teach where they are having trouble as a whole group, small group, or independently. My students LOVE using Raz-Kids and reading new books. Their face lights up when they reach a "new level" and get a whole new library of books. Without your help I would not have Raz-Kids in my room for my students to use. A BIG thank-you to each and every donor and also to the NEA Foundation for helping to make it possible.”

Funded Jul 27, 2014With your donations my students will be able to use a variety of books to learn how to recycle and take care of the Earth. On Earth Day we will use these books to see what others do and brainstorm how we can contribute in our school and community. We currently use the plastic book boxes to keep our books in. They replaced our cardboard boxes that have to be replaced every year. I have showed the students one way to recycle is by taking care of these new book boxes so they can be used over and over again. These resources have made a big impact in my classroom and will help students year after year understand the importance of taking care of our world. Thank-you for your help on my project. We love the new materials!”

Funded Aug 2, 2014Thank-you so much for your kind donations. If it wasn't for your help I would not have enough iPads in my classroom for literacy stations. Without this iPad each group of 4 children would have to share 3 iPads or I would constantly need to borrow one from another classroom. My students use these iPads everyday to learn how to write their letters/numbers, learning addition and subtraction, and many other things. Each student is able to use a program called Raz-Kids and access a whole library of fiction and non-fiction books within their own reading level. This fourth iPad has made a huge impact on my students learning. They are able to learn while having fun. I cannot thank you enough!”

Help to Update Classroom Library for a First Year Teacher!
Funded Jun 7, 2014This was a very large project and I am amazed at the amount of people who came together to help me get the supplies that I need. As a first year teacher there were many great books I wanted for my classroom that I would have had to purchase on my own. This project helped me to build my classroom library giving me around 50 new books to read to my students. These books are helping to build their love of reading as well as introducing them to new ideas and ways to write. I also received a listening station, which is a favorite during literacy stations. I had multiple cassettes of great stories left for me to use without any way to play them my first year. This project has been so helpful with our learning. I am so thankful for all of the donations and we just love all of the new books!”

Being Smart With Our Pocket Chart
Funded Aug 22, 2014Thank-you from the bottom of my heart for all of your generous donations. You have helped out my students is more ways than one. You are helping them to become independent workers who are able to answer their own questions about every day activities. When I brought the boxes down to my room their eyes filled up with excitement many of them asking when they would get to have a turn with our new pocket chart station.
With your donations I have had the opportunity to enhance my classroom to better my students education. I have more of the tools needed to provide a better education. We all want to thank each and every one of you for contributing to our classroom and making it easier to get the materials and tools that we need.”

Funded Nov 20, 2013I would like to begin by thanking all of you for your generous donations. My classroom received two iPad minis which has allowed us to create a large variety of art projects within my room. Along with the apps for learning to read, write and practice mathematics my Kindergarten class has had fun creating pictures, creating music, and using their own picture in creative ways.
My students have gotten the opportunity to make themselves look like life-sized elves around Christmas time and create a winter wonderland themed door for a contest. My students got to write about what it would be like to be stuck in a snow globe and then using the iPad minis they were able to create a project where it looks like they truly were in a snow globe. They also read There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly and related books. After hearing the stories I was able to give my students a chance to create themselves each swallowing a different item such as a bus or a tree. By taking pictures of each student and creating a body, with the object inside, they were able to make the story come to life and create a classroom book.
My students were so excited when they found out about the iPads. They ask to do projects on them daily. From all of us: thank you, thank you, thank you!!”
