  • Back to Normal!

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

My students and I once again want to thank each and every one of you for your generous donations to our classroom. With the help of your donations we were able to set up an art learning center that allows students to use their creativity in creating artwork using various tactile materials. Students can clearly see where the materials are and engage in the art learning center. Our dramatic play learning center now has an open cubby shelf where students hang up the classroom dress up costumes and organize baskets of foods. And finally with the help of your contributions we were able to modify our block learning center to target several units of study and allow students to engage in play using expressive and receptive language.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Suarez

  • Color All Around

    Funded Sep 7, 2022

First and foremost, I want to again thank you all for your generous donations to support my classroom. Having the opportunity to support my classroom and students is truly an extraordinary feeling. With the donation of this color printer to my classroom, it now allows me to create materials like behavioral charts for students, print out pictures of their work to display around the classroom, print our resources connected to the interdisciplinary units of study.

With the help of the printer and ability to now print the needed content students can continue to grow as learners. My paraprofessional and I work closely together in creating the best environment for our students to continuously promote their thinking and use of imagination. Being able to switch out the materials during each unit of study allows for us to provide our students with change, diversity, and new experiences.

Again, I thank you all for your contributions to my classroom, it truly means the world to know there are so many supporters in our corner.”

    With gratitude,

  • Differentiated Learning For All!

    Funded Nov 15, 2021

It is with much gratitude that my students and I thank you all for your generous contributions to fully funded this project. With the materials in this project students have the opportunity to engage in different learning centers using the new manipulatives we received. Students engage in number recognition in using the sorting game or engage in the computer learning center by using one of the sand timers the classroom received. Our aching learning center is now filled with multiple exploratory materials that students can engage with and increase their receptive and expressive language.

The students were very much so excited to receive the new materials to use in our daily learning centers.”

  • Learning with the Basics!

    Funded Sep 7, 2021

First and foremost thank you all so very much for your contributions to my classroom. It truly means so much being able to provide my students with resources. With the resources provided my students are able to engage in individual exploration using the magnifying glasses to examine objects related to our Unit of Study, for example their fingerprints. Students are using the alphabet board to practice writing and identifying letters, and this is helping them with kindergarten readiness.

When I told my students about the resources they were so excited and happy, "these are so cool" said one student and "I want to learn the letters" said another student. I can see the eagerness and curiosity in their eyes as they take on exploring these resources.

The next steps for my students is to continue to grow as individual learners and prosper in the classroom with all the new resources that we have. Allowing my students to engage in various manipulatives and activities increases their interest and passion for learning. Seeing my students want to learn and walk away with knew knowledge is rewarding and amazing. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”

    Mrs. Suarez

  • Kindergarten, Here I Come!

    Funded Mar 15, 2021

First and foremost thank you again so much for your contributions to our classroom, it truly means a lot. With the addition of these texts students will be able to target various skills with the remainder of this school year. With the help of the workbooks, students will be able to improve and practice skills like writing, addition, subtraction, number recognition, sentence structure, and increase vocabulary. In Pre-K we build a foundation to these skills but with the help of these workbooks will create kindergarten ready scholars.

Reading in our classroom consists of different read aloud that allow students to explore, engage, and help promote basic foundational reading skills. Students are able to apply their knowledge of phonics and build on that in participating in learning centers that support theme with content appropriate books. In addition, students have support of teachers to guide them, teach them, and allow growth.

All the students in the class are very appreciative and loving the workbooks. The students demonstrate and eagerness to learn, engage, and participate in conversation. The students strive to learn new skills and apply them in practicing using the workbooks.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Suarez

  • Helping Us Learn At Home

    Funded Jan 20, 2021

My students, their families, and I want to yet again express our gratitude for your generous donations to our classroom. With your donations my students were able to receive their "Learn From Home" kits which allows them to grow as scholars. With the help of the kits, my students can now have materials to engage in Math activities using the bear counters and increase their vocabulary by reading the read aloud stories. The students and their families were beyond excited and grateful for this gesture, and shared that they can't wait to look and use the materials. Furthermore, my students will continue to grow academically by engaging in daily tasks and activities in preparation for Kindergarten. As a class community we continue to work on advancing out knowledge of different subject areas.”

  • Individualized supplies for STUDENTS !

    Funded Sep 3, 2020

First and foremost I want to thank each and every one of you for funding my project for my students. This truly means a lot to both myself and my students. With the workbooks funded in this project it allows me to teach and target developmentally appropriate areas for each student. In addition, I use these workbooks and align them to the NYS Common Core Standards for Prekindergarten. The two workbooks that my students and I are using while learning remotely are "Handwriting Practice Workbook" and "Math Learn and Explore". Using these workbooks allow me to complete lessons that help students in letter/number identification, identifying letter/number words, practicing to write letters/numbers and working on more advanced skills like using the words in sentences. This year teaching is a little bit different for myself and my students. Given all that is happening in the world many of my students have opted out to do remote learning. Therefore my home has now become my classroom and my students homes have become their learning space. Reading is essential for my students as it is a foundation for them to step into Kindergarten. We use many visual cues and online programs as well as our workbooks to support the growth of each student in their ability to learn how to read.”

  • Learning Through Play the Pre-K Way!

    Funded Jun 17, 2019

First and foremost my students and I want to express our gratitude for your generous donations and kind words. This means absolutely the world to us that we were able to receive funding for out project. Currently we are using the new resources in our classroom throughout our learning centers. Some of the centers in which the students have engaged in are dramatic play center, science center, and block center. The students engaged in using the multicultural dolls in reenacting a home setting. Child A "Mrs. Suarez look the baby is getting ready to eat dinner." Child B "My baby is sleeping, please be quite."

When the materials have arrived in our classroom and I shared the news with the students they all clapped and cheered. I showed the students all the wonderful materials we were fortunate to receive and explained to them where they came from. The students replied "this is so nice", "we love the new toys", "thank you Mrs. Suarez". The students were eager to participate and engage in the learning centers where they will use the new materials.

The purpose of our project was to receive new materials that we can place into our learning centers where students can create new experiences and promote their learning. Currently we are in our first unit of study, "Welcome To Pre-K". Within this unit students use the multicultural dolls, blocks to get to know our classroom and one another. Again the students and I want to express our gratitude for all the donations and the opportunity for growth and new learning in our classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Suarez

The classroom is in need of basic supplies like construction paper, crayons, markers, bulletin board paper, and laminating sheets. Students will benefit from these supplies through their participation in centers that allow them to express themselves through the arts. Students are always curious and eager to engage in the art center where they can use various tactile materials in creating collages, illustrations, or drawing pictures. When students finish their projects, I record their responses and display their work in the classroom and hallway bulletin board. Some of the materials are needed for teacher needs to make and create self made games, change bulletin boards displays, and make the classroom a functional space with the everyday needed supplies.
