  • Boosting Our Bookshelves

    Funded Apr 26, 2022

Thank you so much for the impact these extra books have made in my classroom. I am incredibly grateful to have a huge variety of books for my two classes to choose from. I'm also so happy to be able to continue allowing students to borrow books to read at home as often as they'd like (because I still have enough to do so).

My students are able to choose books to read based on their interests, and keep those books in their desks until they're ready to return, or exchange, them. I encourage them to read books by having them complete a 40 Book Challenge during the school year, though I try not to put too many restrictions on what counts towards this challenge; I want them to choose books that they enjoy reading, and learn to live reading for pleasure.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kellogg

  • Fractions, and Decimals, and Math… Oh My!

    Funded Oct 7, 2022

Thank you SO much for helping me getting these items for my classroom. I’m so excited for my students to use these resources. Decimals and fractions can be tricky for 5th graders, so I’m thrilled to have these tools to help learning come just a little bit easier (and more fun!).”

  • Fidgeting to Focus

    Funded Jan 23, 2022

Thank you for providing more flexible seating options and easy-to-use cube timers for my students. I'm excited to have these flexible learning options in my classroom. They are amazing options for students who need to fidget as they work, or do best when they are able to manage their time in increments. My students have loved having these options over the past week, and I expect that will be the case for many years to come (with each new group of students). From the bottom of my heart, thank you!”

  • Ready, Set, Teach!

    Funded Apr 15, 2019

The books and supplies that this project added to my classroom have now been used by over 100 of my 5th grade students. The items I received still have a lot of life left in them, so I'm sure they'll continue to be used by hundreds more.

My students have loved having a variety of books to choose from in our classroom library. The other supplies have been used for countless projects and learning experiences. I can't thank you enough for supporting me as I was just getting started with teaching 3 years ago. 🥰”

As a first-year teacher, I am thrilled to be able to provide a friendly and safe learning environment for my fantastic, fifth-grade students. The supplies that I have requested will be used to meet my students independent learning needs and enable me to provide more hands-on learning activities in the classroom. The books will help to build our classroom library and provide my students with an assortment of reading options, including a variety of reading levels and genres. J.K. Rowling said, "if you don't like to read, you haven't found the right book." I hope to encourage a love for reading in my students by having a variety of books for them to choose from. If only one student learns to love reading after finding "the right book" in my classroom, it will all be worth it. Of course, I do hope MANY students learn to love reading in my classroom! The supplies that I've requested for our classroom (scissors, colored pencils, and markers) will allow me to include more hands-on projects and integrate art activities into multiple subjects. The dry-erase boards will be used to keep my students engaged in whole and small group language arts and math activities. They will also allow me to check for student understanding in real-time so that I can make adjustments to instruction and meet my students learning needs.
