Healthy DeStressed Me!
Funded Jul 26, 2022Thank you so much for all of the materials that you provided for my adorable young students. They have been creating art and accessing their feelings. It has been such an exciting process to see them enjoying.
We have used the glue, markers, chalk markers, and crayons to create art to celebrate kindness and gratitude. We drew what we loved.
Sometimes we drew what we needed to get out of our heads. Daddy went away. My pet died. Mommy got mad. Stress balls helped as well.
We created art for display - using templates printed from the computer and lamination for durability.
As our small fingers worked with the dexterity needed to form letters and shapes, a cute animal eraser was there to assist with any mistakes.
We have loved these items. Thank you so much.”

Funded Feb 12, 2022Thank you for your support! Our students and I appreciated it. Our middle school kids loved the colorful masks the most. The Hopper Balls were utilized by everyone on the campus. The students had races and became very competitive. They did not realize it would improve their balance and coordination and that it was a great cardiovascular exercise. The beach balls were also used by the students of all ages. They created a game called Hot Ball where we sat in a circle and the beach ball was passed around person by person as if it were on fire. If the ball hit the ground the student would have to turn around and then the game would continue. The Tug-of-War rope had been requested by the 3rd to 5th graders however the 7th and 8th graders used it the most.”

The pencils came in handy for our students to use in the classroom. Each student received a hand full to take home to share with their brothers and sisters to use for their homework.
In addition there was enough boxes of tissue for the classroom to last the rest of the year so we were able to send two boxes home for each family.
This teacher and paraprofessional are most appreciative of our new electric pencil sharper.
Last but not least the printer cartridges came in handy for home learning assignments and parent communications.”

Funded Dec 15, 2021The students loved playing Kan Jam. It was a bit of a challenge to set it up but when the eighth graders became involved it was put together quickly. This is the first time our inner-city students have seen Kan Jam however they got right into it and had a blast playing it.
Everyone enjoyed the football, basketballs, and soccer balls. Our Latin American students are especially fond of playing soccer. They pretend that they are Messi from Argentina when they play soccer.
The tetherball was also enjoyed by all.
The snacks were greatly appreciated by all ages of students.
The Folding Mancala Games helped on an occasional rainy day.
The masks are worn inside the classroom and were greatly appreciated.

Funded Dec 4, 2021Our Middle school kids were ecstatic when they saw all of the new footballs, basketballs, and playground balls.
The footballs were a hit with all of our boys, and it is hard to get them off the field when it is time for the program to be over for the day.
In my 37 years at Lillie C. Evans K-8 Center I do not remember seeing girls play basketball. However since the Champion Sports Rubber Official Basketball, Heavy Duty it is hard to get one group of girls off the court.
Everyone loves to use the Playground Balls to play Dodge Ball and Four Square/ Box Ball, so the students and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

Picnic Table, Water Cooler, Cups, and Garden Tools
Funded Oct 22, 2021Wow, the kids of all ages loved sitting at the new Folding Picnic Table which is more fun than sitting on the floor.
The water cooler was a hit with students saying that they wanted to all go first, so they came up with a plan that we would rotate from youngest to oldest on some days and then reverse it the following week. Our middle school students commented that the cups were made with 70% plant-based renewable resources which sparked a recycling discussion and a mini math lesson on percentage.
The snacks were really appreciated by everyone. Pringles Potato Crisps Chips are the favorite.
Disposable Gloves are being used for working in the garden using our new garden tools and picking up trash around the school.”
