  • Green Eggs and Ham by Dr Seuss

    Funded Mar 30, 2023

Thank you all for your donations to this Liberty City Literacy project. My class loves to hear this book read over and over again.

As you can see from the pictures we cooked Green Eggs and Ham. They were totally ecstatic as we started cooking. They each got to crack an egg and put it in the bowl to be scrambled. They were overwelmed when they were able to add blue food coloring to the mix.

The printer ink comes in handy for parent information and home learning assignments.

A special thanks to Nancy Elisburg and The Chief Press Foundation for your generous donation that finished off this literacy request. As you know books are limited in this Liberty City neighborhood.

Isaiah Wright from Crescent City, CA thank you so much for having your little game that I Won !!!!!#seelyelric".”

Thank you for your kindness to this Liberty City Head Start.

Every one loves Hop On Pop and Go Dog Go as it is requested to be read each and every day during story time.

Each of my students have taken a copy to read at home with their families. Our parents are commenting that their child are starting to read the words of each of these books. This will help them next year when they are in kindergarten if they continue to read these books all summer.

Chicken Soup with Rice is another constanting requested story. In addition to teaching the months of the year they enjoy hearing Carole King sing the book which they never get tired of hearing.”

  • S is for Snacks and Sweatshirts

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Snacks were supposed to be used for kids who missed breakfast, treats for returned home learning, and good behavior. However the pretzels became a Mathematics counting lesson which they thoroughly enjoyed. The boys asked could they make a measurement lesson out of the Fruit Snacks Fruit By The Foot. The Goldfish Cheddar Snack Crackers are small enough to fit on the individual 100 charts so they went to town with them and had a terrific time. The girls asked if they could make make pretend apple sauce in the kitchen. However they love eating the Mott's Apple & Cinnamon Variety Pack Applesauce in class and took the rest home to share with their siblings. The cookies were enjoyed by everyone over the course of many days. Last but not least, my kids look adorable in their new sweat shirts, so thanks one more time from the bottom of my heart !!!!!”

  • Waterford Early Learning Hand and Hand With iPads: Part 2

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

My Pre-K class was really excited to hear that we no longer have to play outside in the sunny Miami heat. The umbrellas make our out door play area feel comfortable.

The Rectangle Sun Shade Sail Canopy helps to keep my children from getting sun burns and heat stroke because it covers such a large area.

The new Apple - 10.2-Inch iPads are being utilized with a Pre-K program called Waterford Early Learning. This helps them to learn the alphabet, colors, days of the week, months of the year, and number sequencing. They also use IXL Math which they all love.

Finally the iPad 10.2 Case for Kids, are light weight and have a convertible handle stand to make them easy to use.”
