  • Paper Need Part 2

    Funded May 8, 2024

Some how the copy paper was lost in delivery. So we were able to select an assortment of other supplies, play ground balls, soccer, dodge balls, kick balls. Plus an assortment of snacks and some of their favorites, Takis Fuego, OREO, OREO Golden & CHIPS AHOY and SOUR PATCH KIDS.

The Colorful Strong Magnetic Push Pin Magnets were used to hold up an assortment of learning cards on the white board.

The soap dispenser is being used all during the day by everyone before they leave the restroom.

The corn broom and the mop are also used multiple times through the day because my little ones spill stuff all day long. The Dusters Replacement Heads helped keep allergies at bay.

The class asked could they use the Peanut Butter Filled Pretzels for counting which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, one child asked could we do this in all math lesson.

Lastly 25 Variety Slime Balls Party Favors are played with for hours.”

  • Outdoor Building Sets in Pre-K

    Funded May 6, 2024

How can I begin to thank you all for your generosity to my Liberty City Pre-K classroom. The kids were overwhelmed when they learned that we have another project funded. Color Hoop Detachable Adjustable Exercise Rings were a blast and everyone was willing to wait there turn and remembered to share.

Fort Building Construction Kits for Kids are amazing because we requested 5 sets so there is no waiting and everyone was involved at the same time.

The V-Opitos 140 Pack Fort Building Kits were made into castles, tunnels, bridges and play tents.

Once again I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Hats off to PNC Grow Up Great® for this incredible 5X match. You guys ROCK !!!!!”

  • R Is For Readers, A Is For Alphabet

    Funded Apr 17, 2024

What a good feeling it is to have ink for our printer so thank you, thank you, thank you.

My class was overwhelmed by the giant magnet alphabets, and were in a serious discussion on who was going to use them first. One of my ESOL students who speaks both Creole and Spanish commented that "I can even see them without my glasses."

The one of other ESOL child stated that these new sight word readers (nonfiction) were just right for her small hands to hold and told everyone that she was going to learn to read them all before school was out for the summer.

Handwriting paper helped in forming all of the letters of the alphabet and was used it for writing Mothers Day cards.

Everyone loved to use the 3D Shapes Geometric Solids to build an assortment of things like houses, apartments, bridges and also got made in to ice cream cones. Vanilla was the favorite, they have a great imagination.

Finally Kids Rolling Cart will assist with moving material to the Media Center and will be used to bring supplies outside for Field Day.

Thanks from the bottom of my heart for your generosity to my little ones.”

  • R is for Reading

    Funded Mar 15, 2024

From the words of Dr. Seuss."You can get help from teachers, but you are going to have to learn a lot by yourself, sitting alone in a room."

I encourage my kids about this every day.

So now each of my kids have their own copies of Hop On Pop and Go Dog Go by Dr. Seuss to add to their personal library. They were so excited when they were told that they could take the books home to keep. This makes four book projects that have been funded by DonorsChoose this school year.

So for this I thank you all, since most of my student's homes are encompassed in public housing and there is no extra money to purchase books.

Hats off to Judith Hartmann from Chicago, IL for your most generous donation that polished off over half of this project.”
