Funded Feb 6, 2020It is difficult to know who was more excited the day the packages arrived. For months, my students and I had been tripping over cheap, falling apart Dollar Tree containers that held their table group's journals and books. FINALLY, those containers are gone. Each table group (for both of my classes) now has a designated container in the shelves for their items.
It seems like such a small thing, but it has changed the way we use the classroom. The shelves act as dividers as well as shelves. The way I positioned them gives the tables next to the shelves a bit of privacy. This has helped with students who need a little isolation to work better.
The rug! I cannot believe we went so long without one. We meet daily for our "Circle Time" to check in and see how everyone is feeling and if they would like to share anything. While we do not all fit on the rug, we fit perfectly around it. It is a central point of the classroom.
The lamps are on our VIP table and two small tables at the back of our room. They add the perfect bit of homey-ness to the room. We turn the lamps (and other lamps) on in then morning instead of the harsh overhead lights. It is a calm way to begin our day.
Thank you again for the difference you have made in our daily lives.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Pierson
