  • Recyling in the Present to Provide a Sustainable Future!

    Funded Feb 29, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation. My scholars will use these resources to help make our school more sustainable. These resources will take our recycling program to the next level. With the right supplies, our students can teach other students the importance of recycling, as well as the proper way to recycle. We are forever grateful for your support, and we hope these supplies will encourage more students to recycle and join our call to action.”

  • Remote Learners Defeat the Odds!

    Funded Aug 17, 2021

Thank you for your support and generosity. My scholars were able to use the materials to complete their first remote learning experience with success. Each student was able to complete the required assignments and lessons successfully with your help. My scholars were able to have the support and resources they needed to complete their remote learning year successfully and not have to stress about materials they would need.

With your generous support, each student passed their prospective grade levels and were able to share their achievements with family and friends. Students also shared their experiences with other students to give them advice on how they survived the pandemic. We couldn't have done it without you. Your resources, support, and generosity will not go unnoticed. We will talk about this for years to come. We truly appreciate you.

    Thanks again,

    Mrs. Richburg and scholars”

  • Collaborative Study Groups Outdoors

    Funded Dec 5, 2019

This project has been a tremendous help to my scholars. It has helped with increasing student achievement in all of their classes, promoting building relationships, and enhanced their academic conversations in their collaborative groups. My scholars were ecstatic when they saw all of the materials and couldn't believe that all of it belonged to our class. I am hoping with access to more resources to help with increasing student achievement, I will be able to attend more professional development trainings that will allow me to better serve and instruct my scholars.”

  • AVID Binders Promoting Organization!

    Funded Sep 11, 2019

We are so grateful for the opportunity to have a gracious donor to help provide the necessary resources for my scholars to be successful. My scholars were truly amazed to know that someone donated the supplies to allow them to begin their journey towards organization. The students were so excited to see the supplies and begin setting up their binders.

Since the students have had the binder supplies, they have really been taking organization to another level. The students are required every other week to have binder checks. This allows me to see if they are using their strategies wisely and taking care of their binders resources.

With this expectation in place, I have seen my students school grades improve. Due to keeping up schoolwork, homework, and test/quizzes, their grades will continue to improve. Without your generous donation as well as others, my students would have a difficult time focusing this school year. We are so appreciate of your support.”

  • Helping Middle School Students to Become "College and Career" Bound!

    Funded Dec 9, 2018

My students are really enjoying the resources you have provided for us. We use the resources on a daily basis during our tutorial sessions. These sessions allow my scholars the opportunity to help one another on challenging questions for any subject area. They ask each other higher order/critical thinking questions to help the other student find their point of confusion and master their next assessment.

When my students first saw the supplies, they couldn't believe that someone would donate school items to their class. They felt very special and important that people were willing to spend their money to purchase items for them, especially students they didn't know. This was a surreal experience for my scholars. They really appreciate these resources and they are very protective of the supplies. They want to make sure they last long enough for the class to use them.

Since receiving these supplies, my scholars test scores have improved. We are also seeing an improvement in their class performance and overall grades as well. My scholars know that they are privileged to be apart of a great program such as AVID. By allowing the students to be apart of the teaching experience in the classroom is a rewarding experience for them. By purchasing our tutorial supplies, not only prepares our student for their class tutorial session, but it also prepares them for relationships they may form later in life. Once again, thanks a million for changing my students lives.”

  • Daily Interactive Science Journals

    Funded Feb 9, 2018

We are so thankful to the supplies purchased and provided to my students. The students were able to master their end of grade test by using these journals as an organizational and study tool. Students were able to organize interactive notebooks to use as a source to store and organize all Science material.

The students were so excited when they saw the materials on their desk when they arrived to school. The students were so excited to write letters to the donors to thank them for the supplies. My students were surprised to see that someone really cared to help be prepared for class.

If my donors were able to look into my classroom, they would see students actively using their notebooks. They write their warm ups, journals, vocabulary, gluing of important worksheets, and homework in their notebooks. The next steps for my students are to use these notebooks as a study tool for their end of grade assessment and next grade level.”

  • Hearing Made Easier!

    Funded May 9, 2018

Technology has been helping our students excel in several ways in my class. It has allowed the opportunity for students to improve 21st century skills. It allows my students to be globally competitive in today's society. Technology also helps to make learning fun and interesting to the students. By incorporating technology into my lessons, it helps students make a connection to what is being taught. It helps to make learning have a purpose to the students. Students are always looking for the answer, "Why do I need to know this?" By using technology in my classroom, I really don't hear those questions anymore because the students are fully engaged and focused.

The students are really enjoying the headphones. The students now have the opportunity to learn in the manner they want. If an assignment requires them to watch a video, read a text, or online collaborate with other students. They have the opportunity to listen at their own pace without distracting other students. This also allows students that have learning disabilities to not be singled out in front of the class. They especially love the bags to keep them. This allows the students to keep them protected at all times, no matter where they are.

My students with disabilities are more excited about our headphones than the others students. The are extremely appreciative that they have the necessary accommodations for them to learn at the pace they need. These products have allowed my classroom to be a classroom of personalized learning. We are truly thankful to the donor for supplying us with this blessing.”

My students will be working on a yearlong project which is a "Daily Interactive Science Journal". This notebook not only allows the student to keep up with daily educational materials, but helps them to make daily connections to Science and their everyday lives. I feel that being able to use basic classroom materials, to build a wonderful scientific collage about what you learn each day in Science, will definitely take these "Kings" and "Queens" to the next level of their academic careers and allow them to be college and career ready at an early stage. Students will use notebooks everyday to store and organize class handouts, notes, graded quizzes and tests, homework, readings, and projects. They will have to use the glue sticks, scissors, pencils, pens, markers, and index cards to build their daily interactive science journal into an amazing masterpiece. At the end of the year, these students can look back and see all of the content they have learned throughout the year and be ready to share with their parents, how science is used everyday in our lives.
