  • Effective Distance Learning

    Funded Jul 22, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donations!! My home classroom is going to be amazing! This is such a new experience and your contributions will help me to navigate it even better. From the bottom of my heart - thank you so very much. My students and I are very grateful.”

  • Reading and Technology!

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

I cannot possibly thank you enough for this wonderful generosity! The use of this iPad has changed the lives of my students and has greatly expanded the possibilities and creativity available to them. Because of this, they have been able to create videos and movie presentations using the iPad and green screen as well as being able to conduct amazing research.

I think that the most exciting aspect is that now students who do not have access to these apps and technology at home are able to create impressive projects on the same level as those who do.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Young

  • Project, Print, Publish!

    Funded May 13, 2019

I cannot adequately express my gratitude for your generous donations! Technology is such a valuable component of our learning experience and you have helped my students to soar higher! They were so excited to use our new green screen and to be able to create amazing graphics and photos for projects as well as being able to actually print in color to enhance those research presentations!

Something that is very heartwarming is that some of my students, who are not as advanced academically, have been able to utilize this technology to become more of a contributor to group projects.

All of this is so very exciting, and I appreciate all of you so much.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Young

  • Bringing Ancient Egypt to Life!

    Funded Oct 16, 2018

Thank you so much for your generosity!! We were able to use these resources to create projects that were featured in our 6th Grade Night on the Nile. We made amazing Egyptian Masks, created cuneiform tablets, painted a sarcophagus, and so many other exciting things! The students were so excited to have the materials to be creative and develop their incredible projects. Often we are unable to do things like this because the materials are so expensive and I am unable to provide them. Thanks to you, we were able to get our creative juices flowing!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Young

  • Be Flexible - Have a Seat!

    Funded Jan 25, 2018

My students are loving our new resources!! These flexible seating options really help to eliminate a lot of the issues that can come up with traditional classroom seating and allows them to make choices that are most conducive to their learning - along with making things fun!

The kids were so excited when they came in the next day and quickly found the spots that would become their favorites. They were very appreciative and thankful to all of our donors.

Right now we are working on a lot of collaborative projects and this seating truly helps to foment the collaboration process. One of the fun projects they are working on is a Statistics project in Math. They are choosing statistical questions, gathering data, and then learning how to create charts and graphs as well as analyze their data. It's been a really fun process so far!”

  • Flexible Seating & Organization

    Funded Aug 23, 2017

Thank you so much for your generous contributions to our class project on Donors Choose! We use these resources on a daily basis - the impact is real! Each student now has his or her own magazine holder to keep notebooks, etc... as well as a cubby for books. This supports our flexible seating arrangement, so things are not actually kept at their seats and movement is possible. Also, our reading area now has comfy pillows for the kids to relax on after they earn the privilege.

The kids were so very excited when they saw these items! They truly love being organized and it helps them to stay focused on their work because everything is easy to find.

Thanks again for your generosity, we are very grateful.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Young

  • Researchers Need Technology!

    Funded Feb 9, 2017

Thank you so much! Your generous donation has made such a difference in the lives of my students! Having technology in the classroom is such a huge benefit to make these kids 21st century learners, and you helped me to provide it to them. In the classroom, we use Chromebooks for things like Kahoot (an online interactive quiz game where students can make up and/or take quizzes on different subjects), research (my class does 3 major research projects per year), Accelerated Reader, Math videos, word processing, slideshows, and many more wonderful apps and websites.

One of the most exciting things about this donation is the fact that not only can they research topics, but they can print them out using our amazing new laser printer - in color!! It is also extremely exciting that we have added two more Chromebooks - making it so that we now have 13 for our 31 students. Much better odds than the 8 that are provided by our district. Your generosity makes this possible.

In this ever-changing socioeconomic climate, there are often students who do not have access to technology at home. By providing them with the opportunity to complete research, word processing, and other projects at school this opens up doors that would otherwise be closed.

    I cannot thank you enough.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Young

  • Taking on Technology!

    Funded Apr 20, 2016

This project has changed the way my students are able to produce work in our classroom! Some of the ways that the technology is helping my students to learn is through interactive "trips", online assessment, google classroom, learning typing skills, powerpoint, word processing, making iMovies... I can't even begin to name everything!

Students are able to take visual tours of pyramids in Egypt, or visit a rainforest online, which helps them to get a better grasp on what we are learning about! They are learning skills that will stay with them throughout their lives and that will make them more marketable once they enter the job force.

Most of all, for the students who still are unable to access these things from home, they are now given the opportunity to stay current. Thank you so much, your generosity touches many.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Young

  • The Quest for Technology

    Funded Mar 9, 2016

This technology is going to make such a difference in our classroom! On a daily basis, we use Chromebooks for things like research, test prep, intervention, Accelerated Reader, Front Row (Math & ELA challenges), Sundog (Math Games), writing essays, and collaborative group work. Having a few more at our disposal really makes it easier for us to get things done in a realistic time frame. Previously, we had 8 devices from our district, and 30 students. It took us days to get a project done that could have been done in one - thank you. Also, the printer helps students to publish work and to create projects on a much more frequent basis - in color!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Young

Our school has a wonderful, nurturing, academic environment, but we all know that there is always more that we want to give. I am blessed with community support and wonderful parent involvement, and I welcome the chance to further nurture the academic needs of my students. We live in a time when technology is vital to their success, and I am grateful to Donors Choose for helping teachers to find a way to make it a bit more accessible. Thank you for considering a donation to my classroom project!
