Emmonak School Mushroom Cultivation
Funded Oct 31, 2024I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to reach out and express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation to our classroom mushroom-growing project. Thanks to your kindness and support, my students now have the opportunity to learn hands-on about science, sustainability, and the fascinating world of fungi.
The supplies you've provided will allow us to cultivate mushrooms in our classroom, offering a unique and meaningful learning experience that goes far beyond textbooks. Growing mushrooms on various substrates will not only teach students about the life cycle of fungi, but also give them a chance to explore principles of biology, chemistry, and environmental science in a way that is engaging and relevant to our community.
In our rural village, resources like these open up a world of possibilities. I am thrilled to see the excitement in my students’ eyes as they engage in these activities, and I know these hands-on experiences will have a lasting impact on their love for learning and discovery.
Thank you once again for making this project a reality. Your support truly makes a difference in our classroom, and I am so grateful to have you as a part of our learning journey.”
With gratitude,
Dr. Whipple
Hooper Bay Mushroom Cultivation.
Funded Sep 22, 2023Thank you for helping fund the Hooper Bay mycology project. We will grow mushrooms like oysters, reishi, and lion mane. Our exceptional needs students will be cultivating the mushrooms and cooking them in the Home Economics room. We will propagate the spores to grow new crops of mushrooms. Once again, I appreciate all of the mycophiles supporting this project.”
With gratitude,
Dr. Whipple
