  • Komposting Kids!

    Funded Jan 20, 2025

Thank you so much for choosing our project to fund. Not only will we be making the world a better place by composting our healthy snacks, but my students will leave my classroom with a wide range of knowledge around the different ways to compost. We're making the world a better place in our classroom and the homes of many students. Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mx. Morse

  • Learning to Juggle Mindsets

    Funded Nov 21, 2018

My kids were blown away when they opened the boxes containing our juggling balls. There was a lot of fear and trepidation about whether they would be able to juggle. We've done short juggling lessons during our morning meetings, which convinced the kids that they could do the crazy skill of juggling. It has been an awesome shared class activity for discussing what growth mindset sounds like and looks like.

One of my favorite unexpected results of having juggling balls in the classroom is that students from all over the school come to juggle in the mornings before school. It has created discussion and activity with more than just my students. The students are always excited to show adults who walk into my room their juggling skills.

Thank you so much for donating so that my kids could have this experience!”

    With gratitude,

    Mx. Morse

Learning to juggle will reinforce fall lessons about growth mindset, enhance students' gross motor skills, and add a fun option for brain breaks. Having a growth mindset is so important in school because the knowledge that our brains are built to learn can get us past the moments of frustration when we feel like we will never be able to do something. Practicing this skill in a non-academic area will help my students transfer it to the academic areas that they are struggling in. As a circus student, I am excited to bring one of my passions into my students. In addition to practicing growth mindset, students will have another opportunity to see that people can be more than one thing. In this case, their teacher can also be in the circus!
