  • Empowering Learning With Essential Classroom Tools and Comfort

    Funded Feb 25, 2025

    Dear Donors,

I cannot thank you enough for your generosity and support of my classroom. Your donation will make a tremendous difference in my students’ learning experience, providing them with the resources they need to grow, explore, and succeed. Knowing that there are people like you who believe in our students is truly inspiring. Your kindness and investment in their future mean the world to us.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Lane

  • Building Reading Skills

    Funded Nov 22, 2019

Thank you so much for your support and believing in our classroom! The students are really benefitting from listening to literature on CD with the headphones. They love to listen to the stories and now will have the opportunity to do it over and over again electronically. One thing I have found to help motivate them is to incorporate technology into my classes. Kids seem to gravitate to having that independent control over their results. We were eager to have the headphones arrive. Donors like you make it possible for me to do my job effectively. Thank you for your contribution and making the world a better place!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Lane

  • Demonstrating with Doc Cams

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

When the box arrived with the Document Cameras from our Donor's Choose grant, the kids cheered! We are all so excited to be able to have this additional tool for our classroom learning environment. These 3 Document Cameras have created an opportunity for small group intervention, individualized support, and group collaboration.

The students in my class came into 5th grade with varied ability levels. I have already begun to plan for small groups of students to use the document cameras for math fact practice, map skills, and other basic skills practice that some of my students need to experience daily.

In addition to small group intervention, I'm thankful for the document cameras to be able to provide individualized support. For an example, majority of my students are Kinesthetic Learners. Having these document cameras gives them the opportunity to show what they have learned and complete their assignments without getting frustrated and giving up.

The possibilities for group collaboration are almost endless. The students have already started planning how they will present their next group assignments by working together, recording their presentations, and using different output methods. For example, some students want to present lessons, yet others want to create a mini-documentary or explanation video. The students are excited because these document cameras have given them a tool to help create interesting and relevant collaborative presentations.

We are so thankful for your support and we appreciate your generosity. Thank you for enriching education for this class of 5th graders and many more in the future!"”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Lane

My students need alternative ways to communicate their ideas using technology. Our students will use the document cameras to create digital representations of their learning. Rather than limiting the process to web-based tools, students, with the use of document cameras, can expand their creative possibilities to include student drawings, hands-on demonstrations, and stop-motion animation. The document camera assures that all students will maintain a longer focus and be able to more effectively follow along with classroom lessons and instructions. Using the document cameras, student work is voluntarily shared with other students in the classroom during whole group instruction to help illicit a deeper classroom discussion. Students' finished work is also corrected using the document camera so that everyone immediately knows if their answers are correct or not and can make corrections if necessary. Your generous donation to our project will improve our multi-grade classroom by building stronger communicators. My class can come up to the document camera and model solving math problems together while using manipulatives as others watch the lesson. A student can work to correct language arts sentences under the camera while others look on at what is being done, even as the child makes mistakes and corrects them. Perfect time for feedback and peer editing. A document camera is a valuable tool when integrating technology into the classroom. Student learning will be enhanced by this addition to our classroom. Students are capable of seeing materials being used for instruction projected in large form on the board. A child's expression when they see their individual work under the camera is amazing. This will make teaching engaging and more fun for all students. This will change our students' lives for the better by building their confidence and making learning more engaging!
