My students are under privileged. I work in a Title I school that serves free breakfast and lunch to all students. My students come from homes that are broken or lacking the much needed support to be successful in the classroom. My students also lack the motivation and discipline needed to function in their academics. My students mainly consist of Hispanics, English Language Learners, Special Education students, and Monolingual students. I would like my classroom to offer more diversity and opportunities for students to be engaged and optimistic about their academics despite their label. There is great support within our school district and school level for our students and our needs as teachers, but there are not enough funds to support teachers in deepening students learning with technology and supplies. It is difficult to share a barely working laptop or run down markers to do research and projects. We need help!
