A New TV for Us All to See!
Funded Feb 29, 2024We are absolutely blown away by how quickly we were able to get this funded. The students were BEYOND EXCITED when the new TV arrived! We are extremely grateful for your support. We love our Mark Twain students, parents and alumni! This new TV and speaker system has already started to make a HUGE difference in our daily classroom. The old TV connectivity used to go in and out and made it difficult for lessons to be properly displayed throughout class. With this new TV, we've been able to display lesson content with ease and without disruption. Additionally, I no longer have to stop the lesson to try and troubleshoot the issue, which used to take time away from instruction.
Thank you again for making an impact in our students learning. This will make a difference for not only the current students, but all the future students that will come through the vocal talent program at Mark Twain.”

Laptop for Remote Learning & Virtual Choir Performances!
Funded Dec 2, 2020Thank you so much for your incredible tremendous donations. This past school year was one of the most difficult years for myself and my students alike. As you know, our school system had to transfer our instruction from in-person to fully remote virtually overnight. We went from teaching our students in person to teaching over Zoom.
The laptop I was using was over 9 years old and it was not able handle the amount of use it was getting. There were even certain functions on ZOOM/Google Meet that I can't properly utilize. Recently, the laptop has started to turn on and off on its own due to it getting easily overheated. As a teacher, it is imperative that I am able to meet the needs of all my students in the classroom and online.
This new laptop allowed me to be able to utilize the new Whiteboard, screen sharing features and audio capabilities with my students. This allowed me to take my virtual teaching one step further and allow students to be able to use the interactive features.
Additionally as a choir teacher, I wanted to continue to make my students excited about learning and find new ways to perform virtually! This new laptop provided me with the necessary technology to be able to create new virtual choir videos. It was important to me and my students to be able to still perform together virtually.
Here are a few of the videos that I was able to create on this new laptop! I hope you enjoy watching them & can see how much of an impact you all made.

This classroom project was brought to life by FamilyAlbum and 3 other donors.Pencils, Markers and Ink! Oh My!
Funded May 3, 2019Thank you so much for donating to our classroom. My students and I are incredibly grateful! The printer ink will be used in our classroom printer. My students use this printer to print out their homework assignments, not just for my class, but also for their academic subject areas. Some of my students who don't have access to a printer readily utilize our classroom printer. Many of my students have also become quite interested in waterbrush calligraphy and the Tom Bow Brush Pens will be used to personalize our room. My students have already started using the brush pens and sharpies, to write out headings, titles for our bulletin board and much more.
Lastly, in choir, we go through pencils like nobody's business! We use pencils EVERYDAY and take our music theory and solders writing very seriously.
Thank you again for taking the time to donate to our classroom! These simple classroom supplies have already gone a long way to building morale and community in our choir classroom.”

Copy Paper Needed!
Funded Dec 13, 2017The students in my class were SOO excited to see that we finally had paper again! They actually all cheered quite loudly when they saw the boxes of paper arrive. Students could hardly believe that someone outside of our school cared enough to donated resources to our classroom.
Due to budget cuts to our school funding this year, our school ran out of paper and was not able to order more. We rely on our supply of paper to make photocopies of handouts, reminders, assignments, notes and much more!
In the coming weeks, my vocal students will be putting on their Spring Concert. Having this paper allows us to be able to provide students with sheet music, make concert programs, and hand out notices. We are all very appreciative of your generosity!”

Help Our Books Find A Home!
Funded Nov 15, 2017Thank you for donating the wonderful printer and the helpful bookcase! The printer has been incredibly practical. Many students that previously had difficulty completing assignments now have the ability to print out their homework and papers. In addition, we utilize the printer to print out worksheets, sheet music, examinations, and more.
The bookcase has been beyond convenient as we now have a location to organize the students' binders and important papers. Students are able to quickly locate the books and resources they need from the shelves and return those resources the designated location when finished. Without the bookcase, our books and resources would still be in piles on the floor!
My students' excitement has been conveyed through their excitement to walk into an organized classroom. My students enjoy coming into an tidy space. It keeps their minds focused and hearts ready to learn. Evidently, the materials that have been donated to the classroom have had a positive impact on my students. We are extraordinarily thankful for the printer and the bookcase that you have donated to our classroom!!!”
