I will be creating literacy rotations in which students can read or have books read to them with children and families that look like them, as well as use the iPads to engage them in online reading opportunities that will foster their love of reading independently. The additional phonics tools will help my emergent readers to create words as they build their letter-sound awareness! I can begin reading blocks with books that are rich and showcasing different cultures and then target students in small group instruction using the technology to explore reading on their own. These students will not only grow in reading, but I hope to build an intrinsic love of reading at a young age!
