  • Caring with Color

    Funded Nov 10, 2024

Caring with color has been an ongoing success. Initially, the class discussed how to recognize our emotions and identify them. Then we started to separate how our thoughts and feelings do not have to become our actions.

The way we started to separate our thoughts from actions was through the use of water color. If a student felt overwhelmed they asked for a break in the calm down corner and sketched out their emotion instead of acting on it.

After multiple tries of drawing it out the students were able to paint with water color places that are serene and where they can safely feel all the emotions. Thank you for all the supplies!”

  • Love and Worksheets!

    Funded May 9, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous gift. My students and I have used the gift card for so many different types of worksheets. My ENL students were especially grateful when I was able to provide differentiated work for them. The worksheets provided an opportunity its for all the students to engage with each other even though some did not speak English.

To see the joy and conversation that happened between my students was priceless. Especially since Covid when many of the students struggle to communicate with each other. For your generosity we are so truly grateful.”

  • Allergy Sensitive Flex Seating

    Funded Dec 8, 2023

Thank you so much for all of your support. My students were so excited to receive their notebooks! They have been writing rigorously. They have also enjoyed the opportunity to sit comfortably wherever they would like due to the flex seating.

This really helped promote a more inclusive environment for the students. It also helped give students the opportunity to be able to voice their preferences. I know that these donations were given out of the kindness of your hearts but I know we all are so grateful.”

  • Gardening Club

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Thank you so much for the positive impact your donation has had on my students. Since many of the students live in an urban area gardening is a foreign concept. Growing up in one of the five boroughs I did not learn to love gardening till I was introduced to it as an adult. That is exactly why I am so glad to have the opportunity to share gardening with my students.

My students have currently been so engaged in this activity. Since many of them come from shelters the hands on experience has been very therapeutic.”

  • Interventions and More

    Funded Mar 5, 2023

Thank you for all your support. This donation has enabled engagement with all the learners in the classroom. The the worksheets, supports, and anchor charts have been a vital learning tool to launch the school year. I have been able to give my English Language Learners tools they need to begin to learn English in the classroom.

Using the donation I have purchased picture dictionaries, vocabulary cards, and dual language classroom agreements to ensure that I am providing an equitable classroom environment. The support for these students has been truly needed and appreciated.

The photos attached with this project are of the students working collaboratively on posters. The anchor charts they are using to support their collaborations are paid for with the donation funds.

    Thank you for the support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Zucker

  • Sound for All

    Funded Sep 11, 2023

Many of my students have come to the country recently. They do not know much English. We have a program that requires headphones with a microphone. But until this donation we couldn't use it effectively.

This program helps the students learn English so they can communicate and interact with the other students. It also enables my students who struggle with reading to hear books being read to them. We are all so excited to use them for building literacy skills and language skills.

This donation is so very welcome and the students are so excited to use them. R”

  • Staying Present and Focused

    Funded Dec 19, 2022

My students are from homes that are not always consistent in regard to the next meal. Even though breakfast and lunch are provided students will often come late and miss breakfast. Therefore they are often hungry and if a child is hungry they have a hard time concentrating.

The students in the upcoming week are taking the state test. A hungry brain equals an unfocused child. Thank you for giving them the opportunity to have brain fuel throughout this rigorous exam.

Thank you for helping our students focus and fuel so they can have the stamina and focus to pass these exams.”

  • Teacher Supports for her Kids!

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

The access to tpt has been vital to helping my students access their full learning potential. Working with special education students the resources has provided them with scaffolded graphic organizers they need to access the grade level work.

We have been using the resources to create learning games, vocabulary words, math games. The students have been thoroughly engaged.

We are so appreciative of the learning opportunities this has provided to our students. We also can not wait to do more! Thank you again for helping us.”

  • Let's Start the Year Off Right!

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Statring off in a new school one never knows what to expect. However, I was welcomed with open arms and students who were eager to get the year started. For many of them it was only their second year in school full time! Having tools to organize myself and the students were vital and much appreciated.

The filing draws were used to organize our writing paper. As we are all learning at a different levels the paper we use is different as well. Therefore having these plastic draws were an excellent and accesible way for students to easily access the matirels they needed. The astrobrights helped by color cordinating the room non english speakers and students who were still learning how to read.”
