Basic Supplies for Class
Funded Dec 29, 2023I look forward to showing you all how the materials will be used in class and am excited to let the students know that our project got funded! I know they will be ecstatic to re-organize their learning spaces with new supplies for the new year. Thank you again.”

Microscopes For Science Labs
Funded Dec 17, 2018This has been one of the first projects I wanted to get funded because our classroom did not look like a science classroom at all.
I am forever thanking you for the help that you have contributed to our science classroom. As our class sizes increase, I will be posting another project to help us fund more science tables so we have the equal chance that all students get to sit at the lab tables in groups.
It might be a stretch, but I know we will do what we can do try and raise money for more lab tables. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR CONTINUOUS SUPPORT!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Nguyen

Funded Jul 27, 2019Thank you for making an ongoing impact for the young people in this country. I know that the notebooks have been a great help as many of our students family rely on us to best support the students as much as we can in and outside of school.
At my school, we also work together as a school family to do what we can to help one another HELP the students which also meant if we're teaching the same students, I am more than willing to share the notebooks for a different subject.
I want to thank you and add when the students first saw their notebooks, they liked it because it was new, not used, and it was all theirs to take care of and to write their notes in.”

iPads Needed for STEM Projects!
Funded Aug 27, 2019I had accidentally posted the iPad photos I meant for this project on a different project, but shown here are the students who are using the science tables and lab aprons we got funded for us! (Slightly disappointed I did not take enough photos to share.)
The students enjoy the headphones, the iPads, the microscopes, the lab stools, and the lab tables in their science classroom.
Although the 8th graders had to end their presence in a classroom early, I will still remember them saying, "Ms. Nguyen, our classroom is looking more science-y!"
It's adorable... on top of the teenager roller coaster they seem to be on from time to time.”

Headphones for Online Quizzes!
Funded Sep 8, 2019Thank for the iPads you donated to us! There is a handful of our students who work best using the portable iPads to navigate through our class labs. They're not used to using iPads in the classroom because there hasn't been a class set of them, but they were excited to know that it's an option to use when they need to look up something instead of using their cell phones.
In more recent times we've used them, we haven't fully gotten to the point where we can use them at one station just yet before our schools closed; however, we plan to try and get more iPads donated in the future when we are back to a normal learning space.
Thank you again for the iPads. I look forward to posting more photos of the kids using them in the future on our school facebook page.”

Funded Sep 20, 2019Though this project was funded awhile ago, I find myself thinking about the numerous times we've gotten your support with having the basic materials in our science class.
As mentioned before, most of the 7th and 8th grade students I am teaching have never used a microscope before. When they first saw the boxes, they were so excited. They were excited to navigate through the How-To's and that What-Does-This-Do's. I wish you could've seen their faces as they shushed one another to be quiet so we can start our very first microscope lab.
After we had already gone over a warm-up activity on what they THINK each part of the microscope did, the students were so careful and respectful of the microscopes as they did their best to focus in on the printed "e" on a small sheet of paper.
The students and I are grateful we also received dye and slides (brain cell slides, plant cell, onion cell) from one of the donors and it came as a surprise to me that they shared that information I shared with other students on our 3rd floor. It was sweet coming from middle school students. To be saying thank you never seems enough, but I hope these photos gives you a bit of a glance as to what I witnessed.”

Table Stools for Science!
Funded Mar 11, 2019A new school year has finally gotten settled after our inconsistent start dealing with the lead and asbestos removal process in Philadelphia schools. Fortunately, we're able to use our new science stools and new science tables as a way to keep us going and help us get in the mindset of practicing scientific ways of thinking towards making the environment better for us all.
The kids love the stools and enjoy being able to sit freely in their groups while doing labs. There are times during the week when we are strictly focused on notes, and they'd say, "I love these stools and all but right now, I really want to slouch." We all laugh often about that because I know exactly what they mean since there isn't back support; however, I think that just pushes us to sit up in a more aligned way and also remind us that we should be able to stand and walk around more in a science class.
Thank you so much for helping me fun these stools. The kids and I are truly grateful :)”
