  • Support a Menstruation Station for the Library

    Funded Oct 18, 2024

I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for your support of our school library's menstrual supplies project. Your kindness and generosity have made a significant impact on our students' lives, and I cannot thank you enough.

As a school librarian, I see firsthand how access to basic necessities can profoundly affect a student's ability to learn and engage in school activities. Menstrual supplies are not just a convenience; they are a crucial need that, when unmet, can lead to missed school days, decreased participation, and unnecessary stress for our students.

Your donation is a powerful step towards menstrual justice in our school community. Menstrual justice is about ensuring that no student faces educational barriers or indignity due to their natural bodily functions. By providing these essential supplies, you have helped create a more equitable learning environment where all students can focus on their education without worry or shame.

The impact of your generosity extends beyond the physical supplies. You have sent a clear message to our students that their needs matter, that they are supported, and that their education is valuable. This kind of support can boost confidence, reduce anxiety, and foster a sense of belonging in the school community.

Thanks to you, our library can now offer a discreet and reliable source of menstrual products to any student who needs them. This not only helps those who may struggle to afford these necessities but also ensures that unexpected situations don't become obstacles to learning and participation.

    With sincere appreciation,”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Wolfe

  • Menstruation Station Supplies for the Library

    Funded Mar 28, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donations of menstrual supplies. As you may remember, middle school can be a trying time where bodies and needs change quickly. Many of our students are grappling with these changes and also living in temporary housing or in other challenging circumstances. Having a central place to go to grab what they need, free from having to explain themselves is really important. It also drives traffic in the library up and students check out more books, so it's a win-win!

Thank you again for supporting us and I really appreciate all of your thoughtfulness!”

  • Doodle Away!

    Funded Aug 20, 2023

Thank you so much for donating the Doodle Pens to our library! Our students have had so much for playing with them and come up with some exciting and cool projects- glasses, rings, cups....it's so cool to watch them be creative!

So many students come to the library because they hate the our noisy cafeteria and I'm so happy that we can provide them with fun, educational and creative things to do on their freedom. Many students say library lunch is the best part of the day!

It's is with so much gratitude that I write to thank you!”

  • Uno for Everyone!

    Funded Oct 26, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation of Uno Cards to our library. Our students love Uno more than any game! It never gets old at MS 88. Things are so competitive around here that we have our own house rules to quell arguments and every year we also have an Uno Tournament!

Having new cards has really helped us. The library is packed during lunch times and students are often looking for a deck to play with. It's beautiful to hear students laugh with their friends and get silly over a game of Uno. School can be very stressful for some students and you've provided materials for them to relax and have fun for a bit. We can't thank you enough!”

  • "Everybody Is Laughing!" The Gift of Board Games

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous contribution of games to our library. The students were so excited when we unboxed the games! Lunch time can be very boring during the winter and inclement weather and the library is filled with students looking for a quiet and relaxing way to spend lunch. These games make a huge difference in the lives of our students. They give our students a fun way to direct their energy.

Before we got the new games, many students were frustrated because our old games lacked pieces or were in disrepair. There also weren't enough sets to go around and students would often be disappointed. These games have breathed new life into library lunch and we are so grateful!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Wolfe
