    Thank you so much for your generous donation toward a gift card to Teachers Pay Teachers. I was able to purchase materials needed to help support my guided reading groups.

    This year I was very fortunate that our school was able to hire reading aides but that also meant that I had to plan for them. I was able to use materials purchased from TPT to plan an additional reading group and intervention materials for my students who were struggling and needed more intensive intervention.

    I cannot thank you enough for your generous support. With your support, I was able to purchase 2 large moving book cases for my classroom. These book cases are quite the hit. Everyone who walks in my classroom comments on them.

    I had initially planned on using the back sides of the book cases as a magnet wall for my students to use, but 2020 is full of changes. When my students came back to school in a hybrid model, I had to rearrange my classroom so I could fit 12 tables so my students could be spaced 6 feet apart. Luckily, I had two very large bookcases on wheels so I was able to store more than just books but classroom supplies, and materials I need to use daily. I was able to move them up against a wall so I had more classroom space.

Teaching based in literature is an amazing way to introduce and extend concepts in all the curricular areas from reading to math and science and social studies. I have built a collection of amazing books to use in the classroom throughout the year, but need a place to store them where they can be at my fingertips for use in instruction and enjoyed by my students! Currently, I dedicate storage in my guest room closet at home for many of my books and bring books back and forth from school to home as needed. This is due to lack of storage at school AND a need to pack up the classroom each year for the floors to be cleaned. Keeping my large collection of books at school in a traditional bookcase is impractical, as the bookcase has to be dragged across the floor more than once each summer to allow for carpet cleaning. BUT! I have found an amazing solution in this bookshelf with wheels! It will allow for enough storage for me to keep my books at school AND move them during the summer so the carpets can be cleaned and my book collection kept safe and accessible to my students!
