Neat & Organized First Graders
Funded Sep 7, 2020Thank you so much for helping to fund my project. My students are going to be so thrilled to have their cool zipper binders for this school year. These binders will especially help my students to be organized and responsible. By keeping their work in one place, it will also help prevent the spread of germs. 2nd Graders Need Chromebooks
Funded Jan 28, 2017First and foremost I want to thank you all for helping out my cause and you have no idea what technology does for my students. I am a true believer that ALL students even those in high poverty schools and students with disabilities should be given the same type of education as other students in our great country. It should not depend upon your zip code what type of quality education you will receive. All of you have given my students the possibility to develop their computer skills that are needed in our world today. I look forward to differentiating all my lessons to a greater depth and really tailor my students learning based to their needs. The chromebooks will allow my students to learn how to use all the google apps like docs, slides, and google classroom. I am looking forward to introducing computer coding skills into my class as well. For example, the chromebooks will help one of my students with becoming a more fluent reader because of her vision disability the technology will allow her to zoom in on text and it will always be at the appropriate text for her. So I look forward to seeing their growth with these chromebooks. Once aging your donation was not made in vain and students smiles and academic growth will be proof of your giving!"”

Funded Nov 26, 2016My students were so excited when we received our yoga balls and wobble cushions. These resources allows my classroom design to be more student centered rather than teacher centered. Flexible seating has changed my students learning for the better! I'm a firm believer in keeping the focus on what's really important: the students. If student motivation and higher engagement is truly the desired end game, then we as teachers must adapt right along with our students in our classrooms. To see that some classrooms look the same now as they did 70 years ago is shameful. The students we share our classrooms with don't know life without constant connectivity, wi-fi, and a global audience. Outside the windows of our classroom is a dynamic, fast-paced, and ever-changing world full of choices. How can we expect our students to solve problems and make choices independently if we constantly solve their problems and make their choices for them? Our classroom environments should be conducive to open collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. This simply cannot be done when kids are sitting in rows of desks all day. My students now have a choice of where they want to sit, or how they would like to sit.”
