Fun Phonics!
Funded Oct 21, 2021Thank you!
It has been great to have these new materials in our classroom! The decodable texts have directly aligned to the concepts taught each week. It has given students an opportunity to practice within the classroom, as well as to use the take home texts for additional practice. They look forward to receiving their next text each week, as well as to use the online reading program that was included in the package.
In our classroom, many students are reading far below grade level, and their learning has been impacted greatly over the past couple of years. So, having new books that are accessible to them has not only helped their reading skills, but also their confidence. I am excited to see them continue to grow over the rest of this year and beyond!”

Funded Oct 24, 2019Thank you so much for your generosity in supporting our classroom!
The students love the new rug and furniture. They were so excited to see the new items and begin to use them during instructional time!
This project has not only made our classroom more colorful and aesthetically pleasing, but more physically comfortable for all of the students. The wobble chairs give students a chance to move about the classroom and find a comfortable space for them to read independently. The cushions have made the hard chairs and floor softer for the young learners. Flexible seating has provided the students with opportunities for choice in where and how they learn in the classroom.
We hope that these items continue to help our students feel cozy and support their best learning!”

High-Interest Nonfiction Books
Funded Dec 1, 2015My students are currently researching debatable issues; such as should we ban water bottles and plastic bags, should we be more concerned with protecting humans from sharks or sharks from humans, are extreme sports worth the risk, and should animals be kept in zoos. These new nonfiction books donated to our classroom have provided students with a great deal of research resources. We have found the texts to be on interesting topics like the environment, animals, and sports. The books are at various levels and topics which have excited and engaged my students in reading and research.
In our classroom, the children are at many different places in their reading lives. But, each one of them loves a new book! The kids could not wait to open up the boxes and read the new books. I barely had them labeled and organized before they were reading them! These new texts have encouraged more reading. Your donation is greatly appreciated in room 405!”

Funded Oct 18, 2012When I received notification that my project had been fully funded I was ecstatic to say the least! One of the biggest challenges I face in teaching is finding the right resources, thank you for the support to overcome this obstacle.
When the books arrived my students and I were even more thrilled. We could not wait to begin reading them. We just finished or Book Series Reading Unit, which would not have been possible without your help. Last year, when I taught this unit I mostly did so through read aloud and students sharing books because there were simply not enough books available. This time around, my students were able to enjoy reading through not only one but two books series each! It was amazing to see them all engaged at once and able to pick up another book right away when they completed one! I am sure this excitement will continue into our nonfiction unit with all these new books waiting for us to read.
Thank you again for donating to this project. Words cannot express how grateful we all are for your generosity.”
