  • Dance in the Classroom

    I had such a meaningful experience working with lab, studying the coursework and discovering new dance curriculum to share with my students. I felt so honored to finally be part of their program through this asynchronous training and opportunity. I was able to watch videos, share insights, and print new pictures cards that would encourage my students to move and to move their bodies joyfully. I was really excited to share several songs and movement exercises with my class and my future classes. Thank you so much!”

  • SEL in the Bronx

    Thank you so much for this wonderful gift for my students and our school community. SEL and the mindfulness work found in these materials will be such a terrific resource for my students many of whom experienced trauma during the pandemic. We love our morning Social Emotional learning time and all the ways it brings community. These books are a true gift and I look forward to the many activities including games, curriculum resources and printouts for small group instruction. The students were already drawn to the stories about how to calm down and the strategies outlined in the notecards.”

  • Building on Resilience

    Thank you so much for these amazing resources. I am so grateful to be able to share so many important tools with my students to learn through play. I loved being able to share the unboxing and the components of the Legos with my students and the administration. I also supported students in labeling their emotions and in our SEL studies.

  • Books for the Bronx

    Funded May 12, 2021

    Thank you so much to our amazing donors who supported the wonderful new free library outside our school.especially after a year of remote learning, many students did not have tangible materials such as books to look at, hold and manipulate. This project also brought greater connection to our school community. Many students visited carefully picking out their very own book. I feel so much joy being able to share this with the class and to begin /continue their lifelong love of learning with this most special library. Students received new books, of all different levels that they could read over the summer to prevent learning loss and what is called the summer slide.”

  • Is it me or is it hotspot in here?

    Thank you so much for your incredible donation. It has been such a pleasure to be able to provide my remote students with so many fabulous resources including the theraputty and STEM provocation cards. I had so much fun sharing "goody bags" with students during a socially distant pick up and receiving their photos of play at home. The hotspots were so valuable to many of my students who had little access to wifi but now are able to participate in virtual instruction. My lessons can provide students with opportunities to grow and learn at home with much thanks to the invaluable resources I have received from this project.”

  • Supplies for Success

    Funded Dec 17, 2020

    Thank you so much for the amazing supplies from "supplies for success", my class and I are so grateful. Each backpack contained so many wonderful supplies for my remote students including writing materials for lessons, a calendar to bridge the home-to-school connection, and building resources for our center time. It was so very special inviting their families for a socially distant safe pickup as well as getting to see the look on their faces when they received the resources. Each resource has allowed me to provide more content and curriculum-driven content for my students including opportunities to sort, count, and participate in shared readings. The yoga kit has been fantastic for my students. During our movement breaks, the students invite siblings and caregivers to practice with us.

This will help use movement to propel our play. As the winter months hit, these materials will help us stay active both outdoors and indoors. These materials will help us learn many health and wellness skills. As we do not have access to climbing equipment these materials will help us safely take risks in our play. Our movement time allows the children to have less structured authentic play. This especially helps our kinesthetic learners to make stronger patterns about their own bodies. With these new materials we plan to give the children more autonomy in how they choose (what material? Etc) to move each day.

About my class
