  • Turning Up The Heat

    Funded Oct 31, 2023

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for your generous contributions to our classroom project. Your support has had a profound impact on my students' learning experiences, and I am thrilled to share with you some of the ways in which we have been utilizing the new resources you provided.

One exciting development in our classroom is the implementation of new technology for our calorimetry experiments. Thanks to your donations, we were able to acquire digital thermometers that have significantly enhanced our ability to take precise measurements of water temperature during these experiments. One particular moment that stands out is when we conducted a calorimetry experiment to measure the heat transfer of different substances. The students were absolutely thrilled to use the new thermometers to accurately gauge the temperature changes in the water as we added various substances. It was truly inspiring to see their enthusiasm and curiosity come to life as they engaged with the experiment.

When the students first saw the new materials, their excitement was palpable. They immediately recognized the potential for deeper exploration and understanding that the new technology offered. Their eagerness to dive into the experiments and discover new insights was truly heartwarming, and it reaffirmed the value of your support in providing them with these opportunities.

Looking ahead, our next steps involve incorporating the thermometers into our upcoming project on thermal expansion. In this project, we will investigate the effects of climate change by studying how changes in temperature affect the expansion and contraction of various materials. By utilizing the thermometers you provided, we will be able to collect accurate data to analyze the impact of temperature fluctuations on different substances. This project will not only deepen our understanding of scientific concepts but also foster a greater appreciation for the real-world implications of climate change.

Once again, I cannot thank you enough for your generosity and support. Your contributions have made a tangible difference in the lives of my students, empowering them to explore, learn, and grow in ways that would not have been possible otherwise. Your belief in our classroom project means the world to us, and we are incredibly grateful for your ongoing support.”

    Funded Jun 13, 2023

Thank you so much for providing my students with supplies for their group projects. My students used sticky notes throughout the fall semester to engage and provide feedback to each other's work. They used the liquid chalk markers to make learning about bond enthalpy more interesting as they got to work out practice problems on their tables. We used poster paper a lot to showcase their learning on different topics. We are definitely making good use of the supplies and appreciate your kind donations in making project-based learning a reality for my students!”
