Funded Aug 14, 2024I cannot thank our donors enough who helped us achieve our goal for our new classroom iPad. Teaching first grade, I am constantly walking around the room working with students one-one-one. Having an iPad I am able to keep my notes where I can access them at anytime to keep updated on students' weaknesses and strengths. I can make the necessary notes and comments for each individual student without having to go back and log it into a computer. And in return am able to pull things up more quickly when needed.
Having an iPad also allows me to use technology during our small group instructional time. I use the iPad to display instructional slides where students are able to touch and move things around. The students are able to interact with technology during small group and able to have one to one correspondence with their skills that are being learned.
Thank you again, our class is so excited to have an iPad for learning!”

Funded Sep 12, 2016Dear Donors!!
My class of little Firsties and I, would like to take this time to thank each and every one of you! Without your help and support we would not have reached our goal to get our very own computer. I hope that each of you can understand just how much having a computer will impact the children in my room. Students will use this laptop to enhance their learning, through reading, listening to stories, using a variety of interactive games, and just learning how to navigate a computer. My students now have access to a computer that will be incorporated into our math and literacy stations. Each day when the students do their math and literacy stations, they will rotate through the "technology station" and get to use this computer. This computer will create an incentive for students to remain engaged throughout lessons so that they will have a chance to get on the computer and reinforce their skills. The most exciting part about this product is getting that the students have a computer that will always remain in our classroom. The students now know that they will always get to use at least one computer in our room and that gives them the incentive they need to remain more engaged throughout lessons.
Many students in the class have seemed especially warm to this new technology that has entered our classroom. There is one student, in particular, that is especially excited about this computer because, as the child said, "it's my size!" I specifically ordered a smaller computer because it is more "child-like". I had one student who just lit up when she saw the computer and it was because of the size. I know size does not have a whole lot of significance with technology, but when you're dealing with small children, it is important to use things that are appropriate for their size.
In closing, each and every one of my students are ecstatic to receive a computer that is ours and only ours!! We are all so excited to try new adventures in technology with this computer! The students of this classroom are so fortunate to have received something as special as a new computer, from an organization that thrives to help the educators of this country. We thank you all.”
With gratitude,
