  • Fourth Graders Learn Best

    Funded Jan 3, 2024

I cannot begin to explain to you the tremendous difference that your donation to our classroom has made to the lives of the fourth grade students in the room. The donation to our classroom project has allowed us to buy stools to sit at our small group table, and working headphones for students to use during independent technology time at tables. These resources have helped our learning tremendously, and have provided a comfortable environment for students to do their best work. We are extremely grateful for your care and for thinking of us during this time.

Fourth graders are making so much progress in their learning at this point in the school year. They are working hard and learning from one another each day, and it is truly so amazing for me to see their progress since September. As educators, we know how important it is for students to be comfortable in their classroom environment for them to be able to focus and do their best work. With these resources, that is truly possible.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Stine

  • Better Together!

    Funded Nov 23, 2023

I truly cannot thank you enough for your extremely generous support of our classroom. The items in this project have made such a lasting impact on our learning, and on our spines! Students are now able to complete their work on a desk, instead of leaning over a clipboard on the rug. This is so tremendously helpful for students, not only in terms of what they can do with more physical support, but also in keeping them engaged. One of the most common phrases I heard while working on our rug was how badly students' backs were hurting them, even after only a few minutes of working time. With this project, students are able to focus more on the work they are completing, without distractions such as the pain they are feeling from leaning over on the rug.

When I first told my students the news about their classroom table, they were overjoyed at not only the thought of new classroom furniture, but also that there were people out there who wanted to support their learning. Their excitement was so evident, and it was truly such a great moment to be able to share that news with them! Seeing them be able to use the table as much as possible to support their learning has been a truly remarkable experience. Thank you for allowing that to happen.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Stine

  • Oh, What a World!

    Funded Dec 2, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom community. Although this project was fully funded a few years ago, we have continued to see the effects of our project throughout the years. For teachers, we often see just how much COVID has greatly impacted the learning of the students in our care. Being able to give students exactly what they need to succeed has been the main priority of all teachers over the past few years, and it is with your help that we are able to do so. Thank you for your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Stine

  • iPad for Technology

    Funded Jan 12, 2019

As a class, we cannot express our gratitude enough towards our donors for helping us fund our project. Since receiving the iPad and the Apple Pencil, the way we run our classroom has become more organized and efficient. As teachers, we were able to download useful teacher apps that help us collect data and keep track of test scores, homework assignments, and seating charts. We are also able to create our classwork for students, that we project on the board for students to follow along. We are able to take classwork notes and export them into print-outs so students have examples of problems readily available to them as they are working.

As students, we are able to record videos during group-work, use educational apps such as Prodigy and Typing without Tears, and research about animals and events. For our students who have difficulty typing on the screen, the Apple Pencil provides comfort and efficiency for them to take notes. Many of our students enjoy using the iPad and the Apple Pencil because they like to see their work in their own handwriting, and of course, they love have the ability to use technology during the school day.

It is because of your generosity that we are in this position. My students feel loved by the people who cared for them and their learning. We are extending a big "THANK YOU!" We hope you realize the impact you have made in our classroom. Thank you for your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Stine

  • The Missing Case of 105's Tablets

    Funded Jun 2, 2018

Last year, through the generous donations of those around us, my students received Amazon Fire tablets. These tablets allowed us to move our classroom into the digital age of technology by giving us more access to online support tools. With the help of classroom sponsors, and Donors Choose, we were able to cover our Fire tablets with brand new cases. These cases helped us feel protected while using our tablets, and made it much easier for us to hold and navigate our new technology.

Each day, my students teach me something new. By allowing me to give students through many years the easily accessible technology they need to move throughout the new age, I know my students will benefit and grow in new ways. We feel supported, comfortable, and at ease with our new supports. We thank our supporters for keeping us in their minds, and allowing us to learn in new ways.

We are thankful for your support.”

    With gratitude,

  • A Bug's Life

    Funded Apr 14, 2018

Last year, my students had the opportunity to learn about the life cycle of insects. As an educator, to see their enthusiasm and interest in this subject inspired me to give my students a chance to see this process in action. We were lucky enough to receive multiple caterpillars, and watch them grow into beautiful butterflies. My students were so excited to see this process, and the day we released the butterflies was a very special moment in our classroom.

I am grateful for each and every donor and donation we receive for our classroom. My job as an educator is to give my students every opportunity to see the world around them and understand processes of the world around them. Having the opportunity to raise their own caterpillars and see firsthand how the life cycle works is a lesson I don't think they will ever forget.

Thank you for allowing us to take our learning to new heights!”

  • Tablets for Learning!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Since we fulfilled our goal and received the tablets, I have seen a tremendous improvement in the growth of my students. Giving my students the opportunity to use different tools in their learning has really made a difference. Most of my students come from low-income homes, where they do not have access to tools that support their learning. By receiving these tablets, I could now give students the opportunity to work on their assignments in a more concrete way than just copying lessons off of the board.

As with all teachers, my students are my world. I want the best for them, I care for them to the best of my ability, and I want to give them every opportunity possible to have to their advantage as they move through the world. I was able to create online versions of all our lessons, which students were able to pull up as they moved throughout the day. This was tremendously helpful for my students with IEPs, who were able to learn in a way that was more comfortable for them.

My students love using the tablets. They are able to make their own videos to share with the class, they were able to read books on their level, and they were able to create projects with their tablets that showcased their learning. We are so grateful for every tiny bit of help we receive, and we want to say thank you to every donor. Thank you so much!”

  • Learning in Color!

    Funded Sep 19, 2017

Thank you so much for your support in our classroom! My class is overjoyed to have and use the colored printer for all their academic projects, and to help their work come to life through vivid color and images. Over the past few months, students were able to express their individual creativity by creating projects that used color and imagery to make their work come to life. We are more than overjoyed to have the printer in our classroom, and to be able to use whenever we need it!

When the printer first arrived, my students were at first confused about what it could be used for. After showing them what the printer could do, they were excited and began to share ideas of how they could use the printer to showcase their own work and creativity!

It has been a few months with the new printer, and the students are still excited to have it in the classroom. They want to express their gratitude for your generous contribution, and promise to continue using their new technology to keep creating.

Creativity allows students to express themselves in different ways. It encourages intellectual growth and self-awareness. It fosters a love of lifetime learning and gives children the opportunity to find their true selves. Thank you for allowing us to create.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Stine

In order to produce the best work and learning environment for our classroom, students should understand that every piece of work that they complete has value and is important. The students in this class would benefit greatly from having new pieces of technology to guide their learning. In this classroom, we are visual learners, and every piece of technology that we use is beneficial to learning. In a world that is becoming increasingly advanced in technology, we would like to be ahead of the curve! Our school believes that students benefit greatly from project based learning. Allowing students to use innovative technology in the classroom will make learning a more exciting experience!
