In our garden-themed classroom, having items for the calm down area will help our students regulate their emotions so they can return to learning as quickly as possible! My students struggle because of their learning difficulties, which sometimes cause them to have increased behaviors. In conjunction with explicitly teaching social skills, techniques to regulate their emotions and strategies to appropriately express their feelings, our students will have the skills to increase their positive behaviors to provide the optimal learning environment. I plan on much student progress this year! Please join us in the garden where it is a calm/safe space and donate for our students here at Watson Elementary School! Thank you so much!
