Funded Dec 24, 2022Our students were immediately elated when they observed the new resources! They were curious about where the items came from. Once I explained that donors who care about our classroom provided them most responded that's a really nice thing to do or I like them!
We began using the water blocks as a way to create a city being we were learning about New York City at the time. Students created places like apartment buildings, stores, ferries, or playgrounds as seen in the photo.Teachers asked students questions to provoke critical thinking. Our students were most intrigued by the blocks ability to stick together. Some students believed there were magnets in the water blocks. Others believed it was the water. We took the blocks out of the water and tested our theories. We found that the material of the blocks combined with water makes them stick together. Once we changed our study to transportation, our students used the water blocks as bridges for the vehicle set.
The Floor puzzles were an amazing addition for our students who needed a challenge with more puzzle pieces. Our students set goals for themselves when completing these puzzles. Many of them enjoy the task of completing a huge puzzle on their own. Students also make endless creations daily with the large legos and mosaic magnetic shapes! Your contribution has made a huge impact on our students learning and curiosity. Thank you so much!”
With gratitude,
