  • Smart Board = Smarter Students

    Funded May 6, 2019

From the bottom of my heart I can't thank you enough for your donation to this project. Out of all of the donors choose projects I have posted and received for my students this project by far has made the biggest impact on the education of my students.

Being able to interact with a whiteboard that I have had for nine years like it was a brand new high tech machine makes me happy every day. I have been asking for 9 years for a smart board and have never had the opportunity to receive one. This magical wand turns my plain old whiteboard into a smart one allowing me to interact with our math curriculum create writing samples that I can reference back the next day. It truly makes me happy everyday. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. S.

  • Whiteboard Easel to Learn!

    Funded Aug 12, 2019

I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for any donations that you made so that my students could receive this easel. This easel has allowed my student teacher and I to coteach without having to share a board and be more effective for my students.

This board has allowed for me to provide instruction in the front of the class and then once we transition to the back of the class the students are able to reference the directions if needed. I have been able to display site words, vocabulary, word charts and posters using this easel.”

  • Printing for Our Future!

    Funded Feb 27, 2019

I can not tell you over the last week how many times I have said, it is an amazing feeling to not fight with a printer or burn myself. My students now have the opportunity to receive anything they need at their finger tips. If we begin a new concept and some struggle, I am able to in the moment find additional learning tools to help them. This new printer is life changing in my classroom, and we as a Kindergarten family are so much more prepared for our days. The students have the opportunity to print out pictures to go along with projects they may be working on. Tomorrow, we are going to the aquarium and we have been exploring water animals. My students are able to print out pictures of some animals that they may see and explore in advance. Thank you so much for changing our lives.”

  • Media Cart Makes Projecting Possible

    Funded Aug 23, 2018

Wow! This media cart is sharp! The old cart I had in my classroom was old, beat up, and frankly, a safety hazard! The plugs didn't stay plugged in and it took up so much space. It's like we went from riding a bicycle with a flat tie to driving a sports car. We utilize our new media cart in so many ways. It's helped transform our whole group learning time by giving us a space to project a story we're reading for everyone to follow along with or by helping us get active with GoNoodle and a movement break. Now, our projector, computer, and document camera have a reliable, and most importantly, safe space, where we can use them to their fullest.

Now, I have a new batch of first graders who get to experience the magic of the media cart. They love to help me move it from place to place in the classroom (that's the beauty of wheels!). They love that it let's us look at books on the big screen and dance along to our favorite GoNoodle songs. This media cart is a huge tool in helping me get my students excited about what we're learning. That is worth more to me than anything! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”

  • Guided Reading Table for Kindergarten! Help Us Meet to Read!

    Funded Mar 17, 2017

I can't even begin to tell you how much this table has changed my life and effected accessing my students and their needs! This table had made guided reading, guided writing and other small group instruction during Blended Learning so much easier. This table arrive on a Wednesday at 12:30 and it was fully put together by 1:10, including a run home to get an electric drill. I couldn't contain my excitement.

When my students came back from library that day and saw the table set up and beautiful, they were so excited to have a beautiful table to meet with their friends! They all insisted on getting a turn that day to sit at the table. Every day, I meet with my students to practice a variety of skills in reading, writing or math. This u-shape table allows me to have everyone at my finger tips with the swivel of a chair.

Thank you for supporting my students with something I couldn't give them! Guided reading and small groups is now officially my favorite part of the day!:)

    Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. S.

  • We Need to Get Cozy and Comfortable! HELP!

    Funded Jun 11, 2016

    Dear Donors,

Over the last 5 years in my classroom, I have gone from a carpet that was over 30 years old and disgusting to nothing to carpet tiles that I replaced every year. While the tiles were good for teaching personal space they were a safety hazard as my fabulous 5 year olds would pick at the seams. This carpet is life changing. Every child has their own "house." Each child is able to just go to their house sit and get ready to learn. The brightness the carpet gives in the classroom just puts a smile on my face every day! Thank you to everyone that has donated to this project. This carpet has been a dream for 5 years and it has finally come true!”

  • Kindergarten Chair Bags for Creativity

    Funded Aug 13, 2016

    Dear Donors,

After 5 years of working in my classroom with minimal storage, using bins and baskets galore, the functionality of my classroom was maintained but never what it could be. Since receiving these chair bags, I have done away with baskets and bins. Everything fits in these bags! Everything is in one spot! Every child has access to all of their items. I am through the roof excited with the storage and usage of these bags. The children has so much more room to work on their tables and I have more room on shelves to put exciting centers for the kids so everything in the room is accessible. Thank you from the bottom of all 31 of our hearts.”

  • Help Us Store Our Books and More

    Funded Mar 1, 2013

I need to start off by saying once again how deeply appreciative my students and I are for your donation. Yesterday I finished putting everything together and my classroom looks amazing. Many changes were made to the room so that my students can effective access their new materials, all thanks to all of you amazing people.

The bookshelves have been organized into categories according to the variety of books we have in our library. Now, if the students are looking for a book in a specific category, for example Holidays, now they can go to the book bin labeled Holidays and find one. I have colored coded the books for easier placement. Now our library not only looks amazing but is effective and will help them learn.

The paper tray organizer has been placed in the front of my room with construction paper, lined paper and drawing paper so that I do not need to keep everything in the closet. The students can go right to the drawer and pull it out. It's amazing. It has cut down on wasted time in the classroom which provides more opportunities to learn.

Again, from the bottom of the hearts of the many students that you have helped including myself, thank you. We appreciate it immensely.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. S.

  • Building Our Classroom Library and Love For Reading!

    Funded Sep 17, 2012

    Dear Donor,

This is just a small token of gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. The leveled books that you donated have helped my students every single day. We've used them to learn new words by reading them in small groups during Guided Reading and individually during Library time. These books have helped each student in my room since they range throughout a variety of levels.

Our school is currently facing a huge budget shortfall, so without your help, my students never would have had these vital resources. For beginning readers and advanced readers alike, reading materials are a vital part in allowing our children to grow and achieve academic success.

Without donors like you, thousands of classrooms in the United States would go without. Thank you from the bottom of the 31 hearts you have touch by caring and donating.”

My 30 students are inner city students who attend a public school where funding has been cut significantly. Their parents chose a public schools because they do not have many options which in turn does not provide the schools with a ton of support. They are good, hard working students who just want to do well and be successful and deserve the world.
