I Made My Own Prom Dress!

I am thrilled to see the love and support you all showed for my students! During our class tomorrow, I will have the pleasure of announcing that my students have received what they need to create their prom attire. They will be ecstatic! Thank you for making our school's first prom a night to remember.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Smarties Candy Company and 4 other donors.

I have requested a variety of fine fabrics for students to sew the base garment for their prom look. They will then use lace and embellishments to add glamour to their evening attire, including accessories. My students have designed their dream prom attire in their minds. These supplies will give them the opportunity to learn new skills, and create an original head-to-toe prom look without having to pay a high price tag. For my students who intend to study fashion in college, evening wear is a great boost for their portfolios. Many students avoid evening wear at first because it is challenging, and when you're first learning to sew there is a high risk of failure. These materials will allow my students to take risks confidently; knowing that they have enough supplies with which to practice.
