I am a 3rd grade ELA teacher and meet with two different groups every day. My classroom is a student-centered classroom. Most of our lessons follow a workshop model, allowing the students plenty of time to put concepts to practice. They frequently work in partners or groups around the room. This year I'm moving towards flexible seating. I have learned that the students are more engaged when they are allowed to choose where they sit. My mission as a teacher is to inspire passion, courage, respect, and growth for myself and all those around me. I teach in the hopes of affecting the lives of my students in positive ways every day.
