Can You Hear Me Now?
Funded Jan 14, 2021Thank you so much for helping my students get these headphones and laptop tables! It made the end of the school year go by so much smoother as it increased their focus and helped them better engage with the class! When learning virtually, it can be hard for some students to find a quiet place to work, which means there is not only background noise when they come off mute, but often I can see them get sucked into a TV show, or having other people in their home distracting them. Somehow, with just the addition of headphones, that clues people around them in on them being focused elsewhere, and keeps them from being distracted by things like the TV that someone else may be watching or playing on. Thank you so much for helping my students end the year on a strong note!”

Google Meet Me in the Classroom!
Funded Dec 2, 2020Thank you so much for donating to this project! My students had been struggling for a while with programs like Nearpod and whiteboard.fi and the like where they have to draw answers or demonstrate their work for math. It was really hard to do with only the laptop mousepad! Thanks to you, they now have an easier time in those programs and in everyday things like changing tabs, scrolling, etc. My students and I greatly appreciate the ease with which you have helped us to navigate this virtual world! Thanks, again!”

Funded Oct 19, 2020Thank you so much for donating to my project! I can barely believe that I taught a good part of this year so far without having a second monitor - it has changed the whole game! I am no longer struggling to see all my students or balance seeing some of them, having the chat box open, and trying to see what I am teaching on a small split screen of my laptop... it has made everything run so much smoother! I now can see all my students ALL the time during class AND see everything that I am presenting on full screens. I know it may sound like I am hyping it up, but I am telling you that I no longer think I could teach effectively if I didn't have this second monitor. I can't imagine doing this without it since it has been such a big help! Thanks so so much!”

Funded Dec 2, 2020Thank you so so much for funding this project! I have already purchased and used a number of materials from TeachersPayTeachers to enhance learning in my classroom! It has been especially helpful for small-group assignments and also for helping on our flexible learning days when we get to practice skills they have been struggling on. I have actually had one specific instance where even our math interventionalist was struggling on getting the class to understand rounding and place value once it goes past the decimal point, and I found an amazing activity on TpT that helped a lot! Somehow, that activity brought a lot of my students to that "a-ha!" moment we had been working so hard on getting them to! Thank you, thank you!”

Funded Oct 23, 2020I thank you so much for donating to my project and helping my students! I had two students who did not have anywhere but a bed to do school work in, one of whom did not even have a chair in their house they could sit in outside of meals (no chairs or couches in their living room). Thanks to you, they are now comfortable in a chair that is easily portable to other areas of their homes and is fun to sit on! I often see them on camera, rocking in their chair to get some wiggles out during whole group instruction. The one student with no chairs in his home has remarked that he doesn't have neck pain anymore from laying on his bed to do school and video games afterward. Getting them off the bed, in a chair, and their laptops on a portable desk have been great for getting their work done as well. My students & I sincerely thank you!”

I hand-delivered the Allowance board game to each student's house so that they would get it since most of them have not been able to get to the school to pick up certain supplies. I have had multiple parents message me on ClassDojo telling me how much fun they had with their family, which was my biggest goal! I really wanted something educational but fun for the kids and their families. I have noticed, especially with the students that I know played it, that they are doing better when it comes to adding and subtracting decimals. In addition, when we were working on decimals, they would commonly relate them to me in terms of money, which is the most relatable to the game and real-life applications.
We do the other comes in small-group during ELA when I have flexibility, but the fun 5th grader game that includes point values and ELA and math questions is a game we play during community circle. It came with multiple packs of cards, so we have done a few already and the kids love it! It really boosts engagement - which is sorely needed in the mornings! The context clue and predictions games are a lot of fun for them and so helpful since most of my kids are scoring more than two grade levels below 5th grade.
Thank you again! My favorite feedback was from parents, I really was excited to see that this brought joy to them when life is so stressful!”
