First Grade Budding Butterfly Scientists

Your generous donation have greatly impacted the students of my class. With the money donated I was enabled to create a wonderful learning experience for the students. The students were so excited about their butterfly kit. Many students were intrinsically motivated to keep observational records and extend their inquiry of butterfly species and life cycles.

The other materials have supplemented our science unit of study of animals and weather. Students manipulated life cycle models and engaged in non fiction reading, writing and response. In addition the bingo markers allowed students to expressed themselves artistically and mathematically creating caterpillar patterns.

Our school have greatly benefited from this wonderful contribution since our budge does not allow for new or supplemental materials. The students will truly cherish the first hand experience of observing the metamorphosis of our painted lady caterpillars. These materials and butterfly kit will also be enrich the lives of my future students. Thank you for your support and overwhelming generosity!”
