Pre-K Young Picassos
Funded Sep 19, 2022Mr. Grossman, thank you for all of your support this year! The two projects you helped fund will help my students showcase their artwork in our classroom.
We would not have such a robust arts program without committed individuals like you. The shelving will allow me to showcase all 3D art in the classroom. The frames will give students a place to put their 2D paper art.
We are incredibly thankful because, as Picasso famously said, "every child is an artist." Your contributions to our classroom will help them see their art all around them! Thank you wholeheartedly.”

Funded Sep 6, 2022Thank you for your incredible contributions to our new pre-k playground! When I told my students they would get new materials for their playground, they exploded in excitement!
We are incredibly thankful for your generosity as we are an urban school. And green spaces where young children can plan have become increasingly rare in our city; you truly gave my students and Urban Oasis.
We look forward to receiving all the materials and putting the items together. My students will lose their minds on the first day they see their new playground. Thank you for giving them the 'night before Christmas' feeling. They CAN NOT wait to play outdoors.”

Funded Jul 3, 2022Thank you so much for your generosity towards my students! Thanks to your kind donations, my students are returning to school ready to learn and with the hands-on materials to make learning fun and engaging.
With your help, my new class, full of curious four-year-olds, will have access to fun, thought-provoking, and age-appropriate resources to practice engineering tasks.
I look forward to organizing my classroom for the new year and creating new engineering games that my students will love (thanks to the cool new toys they play with!) The new building toys are beneficial as I prepare my students for higher-order thinking via constructing towers, roller coasters, and other buildings.
Thank you for your dedication to my students and for the help you have provided to our room. Your investment in our school community will engage and prepare young learners for higher-order thinking in the early childhood classroom.”

Funded May 28, 2022It is always inspiring to get a Donors Choose project funded. It is exciting to get a Donors Choose project funded within days of a school year ending.
While my current students will not be able to receive the full benefit of using the resources all year long, they did share in the excitement of receiving new, exciting materials.
When the books arrived, they laughed at how silly our new books were (isn't it something when five-year-olds can laugh at how much we have used Zoom in the last two years?). My students were most excited about the classroom camera; they've never been able to play with technology at home. Being able to borrow the class camera and be 'in charge' of taking pictures gave them confidence I hadn't seen before.
I cannot wait to take out the new materials in the fall and have a whole new class of students who can use the technology from the start. Your generosity will enable my next class of 'little learners' to learn and actively participate in the use of technology.”

Funded Apr 7, 2022Thank you for your generous donations! With your contributions, my students will use the materials we received to foster independence their independence. They will be able to access the materials in the classroom with minimal help. Using labels created with the lamination sheets, the laminator, and tape, my students will know exactly where things belong in our classroom. The materials will also create beautiful, age-appropriate labels that help English Language Learners move around the room with confidence.
Items like the step stools and the faucet extenders will give my students the independence to manage their hygiene. My students will be able to reach the class sinks and not have to strain to wash their hands. A true gift for little kids in a big world!
Thanks to your generosity, and the materials we received, my students will be able to know they can take care of their needs.”

Funded Mar 16, 2022Thank you so much for your very generous donations! Because of you, we are heading into April with a strong base of fiction and non-fiction educational books to learn all about gardening. We are excited to learn from books that mirror our community and students, and these books will genuinely be mirrors for them!
When we received the new books, the students immediately noticed the new book basket in the library and were drawn to it! So much so that the library center became the most popular center in the classroom! We had to set timers and take turns reading the new books.
Thank you for being our cheerleaders and for your kindness. We are lucky to have you in our corner!”

Bobs, Bits, & Ends: Creating a Quiet Time Center
Funded Mar 1, 2022Thank you so much for your generous contributions to our class project! Thanks to your generosity, we could get social-emotional and STEAM resources to use during our quiet time.
My students now have the option to rest or to practice a STEAM skill quietly. I strive to help my students practice spatial reasoning, mathematical reasoning, the scientific process, variable differentiation, and many more skills while playing games!
Little do they know that their new toys give them the ability to practice skills for the 21st century! And that is all because of you!
With a profoundly grateful heart, I thank you for your contribution to my student's social-emotional well-being and their STEAM skill growth.”

Funded Feb 19, 2022Thank you for your kindness and generosity. Our community-funded this project! Those who live, work or have students in my classroom, as well as those who have joined our online community. You did this!
I knew that teaching would include community building with the students I saw every day; I did not realize that the work my students did would impact a larger community of people who root for us. THANK YOU for your commitment and generosity and for cheering us from near and far!
My students are most excited to write on a table (a big 'no, no' in our classroom) using the whiteboard contact paper. They can't wait to be able to use dry-erase markers and erasers (they think it's magic).
Most importantly, though, my students are becoming excited at the possibility of reading and then having additional literacy activities to do in the exact center. They no longer have to leave to another place to gather their materials.
Thank you for giving my students the gifts of choice, excitement, and availability. These small gestures will add up to more reading and writing in the library.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Quintana-Marofske
Brainy Books for Brainy Students
Funded Jan 17, 2022Wow! I am at a loss for words; our generous community not only helped us get funded, but you did it in record time!
We are very excited to receive books that mirror my student's life experiences. My students will feel seen in these books. Whether it is their home language, a similar lived experience, or a mirror to see themselves in the books (and there is no more extraordinary gift for a student than that), thank you!
We are also thankful for the many donors who have given to our projects throughout the year. Your commitment to my students and our community has made a challenging year brighter. We really could not have gotten through the year without you.”

Funded Nov 30, 2021Thank you so much for your big hearts and incredible generosity. We are thankful to have such outstanding members of our community reach out and help fund this project.
The students will be so excited to see their new sand table materials and will love the comfy bean bags in the library. Your generosity will help my students feel comfortable and enjoy the center time.
Furthermore, your generosity allowed us to create a cozy, comfortable relaxation center where students will relax, practice yoga & breathing exercises, and learn to prolong their self-regulation.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
