  • Bits and Bobs For the New Year

    Funded Sep 20, 2023

Thank you so much for helping fund our project! A classroom is much more than paper and crayons; it includes everything that makes it functional, like a projector, wipes, moping supplies, etc.

With your support, we can keep our room clean, organized, and safe for all my students.

Receiving the materials has made a world of difference in the function of the classroom. My students can move independently and navigate their learning in an environment conducive to helping them learn.

The materials have also helped with social-emotional regulation as the materials needed to solve problems or calm an unhappy friend are now easy to reach.

Thank you for the world of difference you have made!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Quintana-Marofske

  • Making it STEAMy: A Home to School STEAM Connection

    Funded Sep 29, 2023

Thank you for your kind contributions to our STEAMy project! Thanks to you, my students have enjoyed the first month of school-home STEAM connection activities and they have an entire years worth of materials and projects to look forward to.

When the items arrived and I sent the materials for the math mummy home the students were excited to be making a Halloween themed activity. The families were excited to be working on next generation math concepts.

As I plan the rest of the school year I look forward to send the rest of materials and projects home. This science, math, and engineering practice will help my students be next generation thinkers and have fun while learning doing it.

Thank you for your contribution for my student's learning.”

  • Incentive Charts That Work!

    Funded May 9, 2023

Thank you all for the kind donations! This year, I have purchased functional clip art (individual, multi-cultural, and multi-ability) for students to follow directions, Superhero clip art for students who need individualized social-emotional support.

The clipart of a student's favorite fictional character, toy, food, or activity has helped me create an incentive chart to help my students meet their needs and participate in the daily schedule.

By funding my project you are giving me the flexibility to teach my students in a way that is culturally relevant, trauma-informed, and individualized.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Quintana-Marofske

  • I'm Smart! Visuals To Inspire Confidence

    Funded Jun 12, 2023

Your contributions to our project have been indispensable for my students. Now that I can use clipart, I can make visuals for everything my students need.

This means that my students can now 'read' the classroom. If they need help with a system, like putting their backpacks away, they have a visual to help them. Students who need additional SEL support have individualized charts and visuals to help them regulate, ask for help, or remember the schedule.

Now that I can access clipart, I can create beautiful, engaging, and student-investing visuals. These visuals and charts help my pre-k students be independent, confident, and successful. The visuals help me focus my time on teaching and not 'putting out the fires' of classroom management.”

  • Enhancing Stem With Art

    Funded May 9, 2023

Thank you for all of your generosity in helping fund this project! With your support, I can enhance my STEM curricula with materials to create 3D visual arts, paving the way for my students to put art in STEAM!

When my students saw the new materials, they were so excited to have them! All of a sudden, tasks like a weather journal were more fun! They can use construction paper of many colors to draw the weather. Drawings of themselves as scientists or engineers became culturally relevant once students accessed the 'people colors' markers. Red-haired students had red hair! My students of color found 'their color,' and my blonde students now have options for blond hair, not just yellow. They are so excited that the variety they see in their life is now reflected in their drawings.

While your generosity has opened up (and connected art with science and engineering), it has also helped my students look inward to themselves. They know they can be important people in STEAM, but now they can see themselves in STEAM.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Quintana-Marofske

  • The Cold Never Bothered Me Anyway,

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

What a wonderful #GivingTuesday! We are fortunate and thankful to have such a generous community of donors. With your kind donations, you have enabled me to provide my students with materials for safe transitions into the classroom (especially during bad weather). With the materials to get our first-class pet, so exciting! And with resources from TpT to make small group learning much more fun.

Without your generosity in my classroom, I would not be able to provide my students with all the additional resources I can now give. Thank you for your kindness and for thinking of us this #GivingTuesday.”

  • Take A Picture, It Lasts Longer!

    Funded Nov 10, 2022

When my students discovered that we had classroom cameras, they were excited. When my students found out that we would be printing their pictures to showcase for their families, well, one might say my room reached pandemonium.

Thank you so much for extending your kindness to our classroom and blessing us with a photo printer, frames, and easels to display my student's work. While our showcase is a few months away, we will begin printing the photos as soon as we receive all the materials and start on artist statements in preparation for our exhibit.

Thank you for being a large part of our artistic journey. Without you, my students would not have access to quality, exciting, and fun art activities for our STEAM curriculum.”

  • Show and Tell in the Pre-K Classroom

    Funded Sep 15, 2022

Thank you for your generous donations! We are excited to begin our yearlong photography project and look forward to displaying our 'Through My Eyes" images at the end of the year.

My students will be so excited that they can use a camera and express themselves artistically through a medium usually regarded as 'too hard for little kids.' They have been very excited since we received the cameras and cannot wait to take them home for the weekend.

It is exciting to give my students an outlet to release their creativity in a new, exciting way in which they have 100% control of the project outcome.

Thank you for allowing me to teach my students in an age-appropriate and fun way!”

    With gratitude,

My students come from different backgrounds; they are from various multi-ethnic backgrounds, they are free/reduced lunch recipients, and we learn in a blended (SpEd & GenEd) and bilingual classroom. They are smart and they know it! They are the smartest pre-schoolers in the city. They are precocious and keep me accountable for teaching them everyday!
