  • Creating Calm: Tools for Focus, Organization, and Cleanliness!

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

    The materials from this project have been small but mighty. They are hidden throughout the classroom, but their impact does not go unseen, as the organization that they contribute makes everything run more smoothly.

    The biggest impact has been in the wire shelves, which I use for student folders and workbooks. Before, these were stacked in the back of the room, and it made the room look messy. Now, not only is it more clean, but the students know where to go for their books and folders when they walk in. On top of that, the timers and noise canceling ear muffs help my students stay on track and focused.

    Having these materials accessible has been so helpful, especially as a new teacher. I appreciate your ongoing support.”

  • A+ in Wellness for High School Seniors

    The resources that I have gotten through this project are scattered throughout my room and play little roles, but there difference is no less significant. My pushpins hold up the art work my students create, so that I can display the work that they are proud of. My organizer makes sure that I have all of their work in one place, ready to go each day.

    I also have a variety of smaller items that are available in one off moments, but just as important. I have given out pocket tissues to students who come to school with a stuffy nose, and offered a child a sewing kit when his backpack strap got completely detached.

    These small items have made a big difference, and I thank you all for your support.”

  • Lighting the Path to Success

    Thank you for providing these lights for my classroom. They have already had much more impact than I could have predicted.

    I did not know, before I started teaching at this school, that the entire building was being renovated. As a result, the natural light is largely blocked from entering my room. These lights will create a beautiful, calming ambience for my students for not only this school year, but in the years to come.

    My students always ask me to keep lights off, and they appreciate having these alternatives. They have verbalized that my room is a calm space, and while I play a role in that, the way in which my room is set up is also so important, so this project being fulfilled means a lot.”
