  • Eating Well and Being Well Dressed During Play Rehearsal

    Funded May 9, 2018

thank you so much for donating to this project. My students had so much fun performing for their friends and family. It was an experience I know that they will remember for a long time. I had students who I have known since they were 5 years old in Pre-kindergarten who came out of their shell and shined on stage. Students who were afraid of singing in front of people were eagerly waiting their turn to sing solos. You have given them an experience hat they will never forget. A few of the graduating students even said they would come back next year to perform for next year's show. Thank you again.”

  • Lunch at Applebee's

    Funded Apr 17, 2018

Food is always a great treat to children. After spending the morning on a bus and then dancing and sinning in a dance studio, my students were more than ready for lunch. They were were very eager to eat and choose their lunch of choice. Who could say no to burgers, cheeseburgers, chicken finger platters and hot wings. It was great to see these kids get to choose the food of their choice and enjoying a day out in the city.

The staff were great at serving my students and their parents. It was a great day to see the sights of the city and then they couldn't wait to walk over to the theater. Thank you for helping to make this day exciting and fun.”

    Ms. Lee

  • We're Going to Learn from a Broadway Performer

    Funded Jan 26, 2018

My students had so much fun entering a dance studio. They were so excited to see that wall of mirrors and singing songs that they knew from practicing for our show. I was very impressed when they were able to pick up dance moves from Kim, one of the dancers from The Lion King. I was so proud to see all the kids participate in learning the dance routine. Students who don't usually like to dance, were all on board dancing and singing in the studio.

My students even sang a song from the show for Kim, she was very impressed with how the kids were singing and it brought tears to my eyes to hear them singing outside of our rehearsals. Thank you for giving them this one in a lifetime experience.”

  • Lion King Part 6

    Funded Mar 16, 2018

My students had so much fun rehearsing with their masks during rehearsals today. They were very excited to see their their masks and try them on. They showed a lot more enthusiasm when they rehearsed today. It will be great to see them putting 110% into their acting, singing and dancing abilities.

Each student couldn't wait to take their masks home to show their families. Parents and students who were at rehearsal today were very impressed to see these students on stage. Many said they couldn't wait to see the whole show. This gave them even more energy to become their character. Thank you so much for giving them this courage.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lee

  • Lion King on Broadway, Part 4

    Funded Jan 26, 2018

Thank you so much for donating to this project. My students are all smiles as they hold their "golden ticket". They are a select few who are lucky and grateful to go see the Lion King on Broadway. They have been asking questions all about this trip. They can't wait to compare their rehearsals to what they will see on the big stage.

This will be a great experience and something they will remember for years to come. You have made it possible for them to get this experience and I can only say thank you.”

  • Welcome Spring Holiday 2018

    Funded Feb 19, 2018

My students were so excited to go on there Easter hunt with their rabbits and use their problem solving skills to look for eggs and other treats hidden throughout the classroom. Many of them wanted to nap with their new rabbits during naptime. It was a great way to start spring break where they were able to hunt and have another friend to cuddle and love. They were very excited to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday with pencils and little books as well. Thank you for helping to make school fun and exciting.”

  • Lion King Production Shirts

    Funded Nov 29, 2017

Thank you so much again for donating to this project. My students are wearing these shirts to school each week as we rehearse. They are so proud of being a part of this cast.

As the weeks progress, we can see them memorizing more of their lines and becoming their Lion King character. It is so wonderful to see these students growing as they embrace theater. I know that when they love singing. We needed a chorus last year because the cast wasn't singing as strongly, but this year, the enthusiasm in their singing abilities is amazing.

When they go see the show in the beginning if May, I know that they will be thrilled to see the Lion King on Broadway and provide them with more incentive to do their best. Thank you for providing them these shirts for our production.”

  • Learning to Write

    Funded Nov 28, 2017

Thank you for providing these notebooks for my students. It's wonderful to have all my student's work all in place. They great thing is that they can just pull out their books and start "writing" and drawing in them. I can see their progress as they write and improve their fine motor skills as the days and weeks go by. It will also be a great book of their parents to have to see their work in school. I don't have to worry about loose pieces of paper floating around the classroom and being lost, ruined or thrown away by accident.”

  • Each Kindness for Each Kid

    Funded Nov 11, 2017

This book has made an impact on my students in a way that I didn't think would be possible. The message of the story is about being nice and how it affects those around you as well. One act of kindness creates another ripple effect to those they are nice to. My students really understand how not being nice to the Maya, the new girl in the story, made Chloe feel horrible because she was following her friends. In this day and age where you hear stories about children acting in an unfriendly matter, you want to teach children at a long age how their actions can affect those around them. I am hoping that this book will have an impact on them as they continue to read it at home with their families.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lee

  • Build a Beary Great Friend

    Funded Nov 3, 2017

My students had such a great time picking out their new friends this week. They were very excited to be able to keep these new friends. Parents were texting me and telling me that their child couldn't and wouldn't put down their new friends at night. One even had to pry the stuffed bear out of their child's hand to go to school. The next day, many students brought their friends to school and one even drew an adorable picture of their new friend. Thank you all so much for helping to make their Christmas holidays great!”
