Interactive Ecology Wildlife Museum
Funded Feb 4, 2024Thank you for all of your help to fund my project! Students had so much fun creating their animal projects for our ecosystem museum. They got to share their projects and reports with their school, friends, and family. Our classroom was a true animal exhibit. They put in so much effort creating their posters, typing their research report, and building their animals out of clay. They became very knowledgeable animal experts. Without you, this would not have been possible! I can't wait to do this project again with future classes.”

City of Ember Book Study
Funded Sep 18, 2022For our novel study we read the City of Ember. It coincides with our science unit where we are learning about Earth's resources and electricity. During the novel we talk about how the City is impacting the characters and relate it to real life. We brainstorm ways we could survive is we were limited on resources. Students are also assigned different jobs from the novel.
Due to the donations each student got a book to hold and follow along with when reading. Students got to listen, read with a partner, and read by themselves to have meaningful conversations.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Seed to Read and 2 other donors.Scholastic News: Current Event Articles To Help With Reading!
Funded Sep 1, 2022When reading our scholastic news, students learn about real world problems happening all around them that they may not be aware of. These lessons they learn help expand their knowledge about cultures and people around them.
In my classroom we reading constantly throughout the day. We have structured reading time where I provide different texts on their level, 4th grade level, and students have an opportunity to pick their own interests of books. When choosing texts for students to read I try and make them kid-friendly and engaging to their interests.
I have several students who love guided reading time and getting to read about the scholastic news. The debate sections in the back are their favorite because it gets them to share their opinion on new things and share with their peers.”
