  • Give Us Books to Help Us Laugh and Learn!

    Funded Aug 24, 2019

Thank you all so much for your generous donations to this project. Every dollar that you contributed is going directly to the enrichment of our student's academic lives. My co-teacher and I cannot wait to expose our kids to the wonderful literature that we picked for this project. We could have not have done it without your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Paguaga

  • Starting Our Mornings Off Right in 1-3!

    Funded Aug 12, 2019

Thank you so much for your generosity and help in getting this project funded! The children and adults in 1-3 are so appreciative. We cannot wait to put these materials to good use and use them all year long (and hopefully for years after, as well.) Your donation is going to a great place!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Paguaga

  • When I Say I Need, You Say Books!

    Funded Dec 13, 2018

Thank you so much for donating to this project. It is difficult to express how grateful my students and I are for your donation. With this project, my co-teacher and I were able to expose my students to loads of new texts. We launched a non-fiction unit where students were able to learn tons of information about sea creatures and jungle inhabitants. They were able to teach each other about these topics and share their new knowledge with their peers! It was an incredible thing to watch unfold in our classroom at the end of the year. In addition to the non-fiction books, we were able to give our students exposure to non-fiction through the Times for Kids magazines which were a hit!

Additionally, our students were able to consume new titles on their levels. When we inherited our classroom last August, our library was bare. We were in desperate need of not only high-interest texts but any books! We had so little to work with in our classroom. With your help, we were able to grow our library for years of classes to come.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Paguaga

When our first graders are "book shopping," we want for them to be excited to get new books and learn new things! Getting higher level books like "Mouse Tales" are guaranteed to see that positive reaction as they advance through levels throughout the year. First grade is such an incredibly important time in a student's literacy development. Not only do they make incredible strides in reading levels, but their identity as readers becomes informed by their experiences in the lower grades. Having the materials like TIME for Kids and "Amazing Sharks" will allow our students to apply their skills in reading and learning from non-fiction texts in engaging and meaningful ways!
