    We want to thank you so very much for your generous gifts! With this easel it has given us the ability to interact with one mother at a safe distance and given us a way to present material for all to see! Additionally, it allows my to engage with students in a one-to-one way because I can move this easel around the entire classroom, up and down aisles to engage in intervention. It allows us to socially distance while still learning and get the support that they need. I cannot say enough how much we truly appreciate you! Thank you.”

  • Together, Never Apart: Maybe by Distance, but Never Heart

    Thank you so much once again! As a result of your wonderful donations we were able to create and compile wonderful gift baskets for our students to wish them farewell, congratulate them for graduating, and give them plenty of activities to keep their minds working over the summer months!

    The books in the basket were tailored to each individual students' level so that they may have interesting reading experiences over the summer and avoid the dreaded "Summer Slide". "Summer Slide" is the tendency for students, especially those from low-income families, to lose some of the achievement gains they made during the previous school year. However, if they continue to read their leveled books over the summer, it allows them to maintain their reading levels! In some cases, if they avidly read, their levels increase as they enter school the following September!

    Thanks to you and your generous donations our children will excel as they enter the 6th Grade this September, even under the tumultuous circumstances surrounding the 20-21 School Year. So, in conclusion, thank you so very much, we cannot express in words how much this has meant to all of us!”

As a result of schools being closed for the remainder of the year, my graduating fifth graders have had many of the surrounding activities taken away from them. This includes prom, trip, and the graduation ceremony. Somehow, they have maintained their love of learning and are always searching for reading books! I would like to be able to provide each student with at least 4 high-interest books on their individual reading levels! This will help boost their spirits and avoid the “summer slide”. This will help ease their transition to middle school! I’ll present these books to my students in a basket on their doorstep with other goodies during the last week of school.

About my class
