• Bio Poem Pictures

  Thank you so much for helping me provide my students with Polaroid film to add their photos to their Bio Poems. My students enjoyed using the Polaroid camera in class, many of them had never seen one before!

  As my students were putting together their portfolio projects, they laughed and enjoyed looking at their photos taken weeks earlier. These portfolios will be displayed in our school library to be viewed by the entire school community! Students will then take their portfolios home and keep them as a glimpse of their life in 10th grade.

• Celebrating Individuality

  Thank you so much for helping fund my project, "Celebrating Individuality." My students love choosing stickers as a reward and have used them to decorate laptops and iPads, binders, notebooks, and cell phone cases. In January we completed a vision board project and the stickers were such a hit! Students used these stickers to help create and decorate their vision boards.

  My students also love using the Crayola "Colors of the World" crayons, colored pencils, and markers when working in class. These materials allow the students to create more accurate visual representations of themselves and of the characters we read about.

• Charging Stations to Reduce Distraction

My students will be so grateful to have a charging station to safely charge their devices, and I will be grateful that they do not have their devices in their hands throughout class. Minimizing this distraction should really help my students focus and engage more in class and help get us where we need to be.

• Safe and Clean Classroom

  Thank you so much for helping to fund my project, Safe and Clean Classroom. The cleaning supplies this project provided are used daily by myself and my students. Especially now as we enter into flu season, the hand sanitizer and tissues are constantly being replaced. Students have access to the wipes if they wish to wipe down their desk before class begins.

  Having these cleaning supplies readily available in my classroom gives my students the opportunity to wipe down their desks and feel safer in my classroom.

• Planting the Seeds of English Literacy

  Thank you so much for helping fund my project, Planting the Seeds of English Literacy. During remote learning it was extremely difficult for my students to learn English through a screen. These books provided my students with a tangible resource to use in addition to our virtual classes. They were able to annotate the physical pages and take much needed screen breaks when reading.

  Students were able to plant their own vegetable seeds and watch them grow just as the characters in Seedfolks watched their community garden grow and prosper.

• For Narnia!! And for Literacy

  Thank you so much for making it possible for my students to have their own physical copies of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe this year. With these physical books our students were able to still have hands-on interactions with the text despite being fully remote this school year.

  With these books my students were able to practice annotating and engaging with the text. We worked on identifying elements of plot and various literary devices as we read. Students completed projects such as "#BookSnaps" and Double Entry Journals with the help of their books.

  A number of students enjoyed this book so much that they have decided to read the entire Chronicles of Narnia series during their summer break. I am so thankful to all of you, my donors, for making this possible and providing a glimmer of light for my students this year!”
