Thank you for supporting our classroom by purchasing books for our students. We will use these books in our next unit so your contribution will be immediately integral to student success. We could not be happier to have these texts available for instruction this year. We send our deepest gratitude and well wishes to you.”

  • Cheer Team Totes

    Funded Dec 16, 2024

Thanks to your generous support, our cheerleaders now have their very own designated cheerleading bags, and the impact has been incredible! The moment our students saw the bags, their faces lit up with excitement. One student exclaimed, "Wow, now we look like a real team!" Seeing their pride and joy reinforced how meaningful this project has been.

These new bags have already made a noticeable difference in our cheerleaders' organization and preparation. No longer are students scrambling to find their sneakers, pom-poms, or uniforms before practice or performances. The bags have streamlined their routines, giving them more time to focus on perfecting their cheers and routines. During a recent pep rally, the team showed up looking sharp and unified, proudly carrying their matching bags — a visual reminder of their hard work and dedication.”

  • Challenge of the Month

    Funded Jan 1, 2025

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, my students have been energized and inspired by the new resources for our themed attendance and grade challenges. When they first saw the materials—like the colorful Candy Land decorations, the 90's throwback props, and superhero-themed prizes—they lit up with excitement. Students immediately started brainstorming costume ideas for the themed days and planning ways to participate as a group. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and I saw an immediate shift in their engagement.

One memorable moment was during our "Movie Night" challenge. Students eagerly worked together to improve their attendance and complete assignments on time to earn their way into the event. When the big day arrived, students celebrated with snacks, cozy blankets, and a well-deserved movie screening. The sense of pride they felt in achieving their goal was undeniable. Many shared that they had never experienced a classroom celebration like this before, and it made them feel seen and valued.”

  • Success Stories

    Funded Oct 30, 2024

The new books and materials have had a powerful impact on my students, transforming our reading experiences in meaningful ways. With the addition of graphic novels and mystery books, I've seen a noticeable shift in student engagement. These genres have drawn in reluctant readers who previously struggled to connect with traditional texts. Now, they're eagerly flipping pages, captivated by intriguing plots and compelling visuals.

In our classroom, reading has become more interactive and collaborative. The sticky notes and pens have been especially helpful in fostering this. Students jot down predictions, highlight key details, and pose thoughtful questions directly in their books. During discussions, they confidently reference their notes, supporting their ideas with evidence from the text. This has not only improved their comprehension skills but has also encouraged them to engage in deeper analysis.”

  • Fuel Your Fun

    Funded Oct 20, 2024

I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous support. Thanks to you, my students now have access to snacks like crackers, candy, and Gatorade that have made a meaningful difference in our classroom environment.

From the moment the students saw the new materials, their faces lit up with excitement. For many of them, a simple snack can provide the energy boost they need to stay focused and engaged throughout the day. During a recent assessment, I noticed a student who often struggles with focus quietly reach for a pack of crackers before returning to his work with renewed determination. It was a small but powerful reminder that meeting students' basic needs can profoundly impact their ability to succeed.

These resources have also contributed to building a stronger sense of belonging in the classroom. We've created a "Snack Station" where students know they can grab a quick bite if they're feeling drained or distracted. This simple system has helped students feel more supported and cared for, reinforcing that our classroom is a safe and welcoming space for everyone.

Moving forward, I'm excited to see how these resources continue to support our learning. We've recently started a creative writing project where students are exploring personal narratives, and I believe this positive environment will encourage them to take creative risks and share their stories with confidence.

Your generosity has gone beyond just providing snacks; you've helped create an environment where my students feel valued, energized, and ready to learn. Thank you for believing in them and in the power of education.”

  • Incentives for Tenth Graders

    Funded Oct 14, 2024

Thanks to your generous donations, our classroom has become an even more exciting and rewarding space for students. The new resources have already made a noticeable impact on student engagement and social-emotional growth.

When my students first saw the LEGOs, board games, snacks, and other materials, their faces lit up with excitement. They immediately started brainstorming ways we could use the games during group activities and how they could earn rewards for positive interactions. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and creativity in action.

Our next step is to continue integrating these materials into everyday classroom routines. We're planning a "Game Day" reward system where students can earn time to play the board games for consistently demonstrating kindness, responsibility, and focus. The chargers have also been incredibly helpful, ensuring that students can keep their devices powered and ready for learning.

Your contributions have provided so much more than just materials — you've helped foster a classroom environment where students feel valued, motivated, and excited to learn. Thank you for investing in their growth and success!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Moorer

  • Personal Page Turners

    Funded Nov 8, 2024

The new books are helping me teach a variety of reading skills and lessons. For example, realistic fiction allows us to dive into themes like empathy, identity, and decision-making. Manga introduces students to visual literacy and sequential storytelling, teaching them to analyze both text and images for meaning. Mysteries encourage critical thinking and inference skills, while books about young love engage students in discussions about relationships and emotional intelligence. These texts naturally align with lessons on characterization, plot development, and figurative language, which are key ELA standards.

In my classroom, reading is all about choice and engagement. Students can select books that interest them, read at their own pace, and even take books home. This flexibility allows them to develop a personal connection to reading, which is particularly important for students who may struggle with traditional assignments. I often incorporate independent reading time where students can enjoy their books, followed by opportunities to share their thoughts with peers in discussions or written reflections.

Several students who previously struggled in ELA have shown increased interest and confidence because of the new selection of books. Manga, in particular, is a huge hit. Its visual nature and relatable stories captivate even the most reluctant readers, encouraging them to persist through texts and build their fluency and comprehension. Seeing their excitement and the sense of accomplishment when they finish a book is incredibly rewarding—it reinforces the idea that when students see themselves in the stories they read or enjoy the format, they're much more motivated to engage.”

  • Field Day Fun

    Funded Apr 7, 2024

Our "Field Day Fun" project has been an incredible experience for my students, thanks to the support from donors! We kicked things off by introducing the three-legged race, where teamwork and laughter filled the air. My students were thrilled when they saw the materials—immediately pairing up with friends and practicing how to move in sync. It was such a special moment to witness their excitement as they learned through play and collaboration.

We also incorporated the tie-dye kits into a class project where students designed their own shirts as a symbol of our unity and the memories we made. They were so proud of their creations!

Next up, we're planning to use the cones to design obstacle courses, giving students the chance to build on their skills in coordination, spatial awareness, and teamwork. Field Day has become an ongoing celebration of learning through movement and play, and we're so grateful for the resources that made it possible!”

My ELL learners will have a better opportunity to hear and read directions for each activity. Writing supplies are necessary in the ELA classroom. Pens and Pencils are always an important addition to my classroom each morning because they ensure that everyone is able to complete the work. Having them ready is essential for time management. Finally, because we are a community with many ELL students, we need chart paper to create lists and reminders that are easily accessible. Seeing work from previous sessions as well as seeing daily rules and procedures allows for better management and efficient use of time.
